Police Investigating ATM Robbery in Keizer

Keizer Police Officers arrived on scene within two minutes of the 911 call and with the assistance of a Salem Police K9 unit, the area was searched and the suspect was not located.

(KEIZER) - Tuesday night, at approximately 11:08 PM, the Keizer Police Department received a 911 call from a female caller at MAPS Credit Union, located at 111 McNary Estates Drive in Keizer.

The caller advised that she had just been robbed by a subject who was armed with knife and the victim’s wallet had been taken.

Keizer Police Officers arrived on scene within two minutes of the 911 call and with the assistance of a Salem Police K9 unit, the area was searched and the suspect was not located.

Salem Bank Robbery Suspect Has Case of Bad Timing

(SALEM) - A Salem police officer apprehended a bank-robbery suspect Tuesday morning because he was in the bank when the robbery occurred.

Just after 11:00 AM, Officer Mike Quakenbush was investigating an unrelated fraud complaint at the Wells Fargo Bank at 3245 Market St. NE.

Quakenbush said he was talking to suspects in the fraud case when a bank employee ran up to the office and said the bank had been robbed.

Latest Update on Search for James Kim in Oregon

Summary of the afternoon briefing and a release on behalf of the Kim family, by Three Rivers Community Hospital

(GRANTS PASS) - Search efforts continue tonight for James Kim who last seen Saturday, December 2nd, leaving the location of his vehicle, which was found by a searcher Monday afternoon.

The focus continues to be the Big Windy Creek Drainage about 30 miles west of Grants Pass north of Bear Camp Road. According to the Josephine County Sheriff's Office, this section of focus is a 5-mile long canyon and is about five miles from where the car was found.

The following information was discussed at the Tuesday afternoon briefing:

* An article of clothing matching a description of a pair of pants reportedly worn by James Kim when he left the car Saturday morning found on a steep slope in the area of foot prints.

* A member of the search team from Jackson County Sheriff's Office was injured today under yet-to-be-determined circumstances. His injuries are non-life threatening and he is being transported by helicopter to Rogue Valley Medical Center for treatment.

Suspect Pleads Not Guilty in Salem Burning Body Death

In Oregon, a conviction for Murder carries a life sentence with a minimum of 25 years in prison.

(SALEM) - Twenty-six year old Philip Michael Florek, a convicted sex offender, who faces charges of murder, abuse of a corpse and failure to register as a sex offender, in the death of 20-year-old June Inez “Candy Kell, pleaded not guilty Tuesday in Marion County Court.

Florek, was indicted by a Marion County grand jury in September in connection with Kell’s death.

Kell’s burning body was found Aug. 29th by a Salem police officer beneath a 13th Street SE bridge.

Search Intensifies For James Kim

30-year old Kati Kim, and daughters 4-year old Penelope and 7-month old Sabine were found by search & rescue crews yesterday.

(GRANTS PASS) - Search efforts have continued around-the-clock for 35-year-old James Kim who was last seen leaving the location where his vehicle was found by searchers Monday afternoon.

Kim was reported by his wife to have left their car Saturday, December 2nd, at 7:45 AM in attempt to obtain help.

He failed to return at the pre-determined time of 1:00 PM.

Approximately 100 individuals are involved with the search efforts focusing on the Big Windy Creek Drainage about 30 miles of Grants Pass north of Bear Camp Road.

Oregon Highway 35 to Re-Open Saturday

Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort will also open on Saturday.

(MT. HOOD) - The Oregon Department of Transportation has announced that a section of Highway 35, which had been severely damaged by debris flows Nov. 6th and Nov. 7th, will reopen to traffic on Saturday, at 5:00 AM -- a week ahead of schedule.

Workers have moved approximately 400,000 cubic yards of material.

Although the road will reopen Saturday, ODOT estimates the work to be 50% complete.

Nationally, pain is the No. 1 reason for absence from work and for visits to physicians, costing an estimated $100 billion a year in medical expenses and lost work time.

(SALEM) - Oregonians experiencing chronic pain now can communicate directly with the Oregon Pain Management Commission via the Internet, thanks to a recent upgrade to the commission's website.

The new interactive component of the site allows individuals to send the commission their comments and suggestions about pain, treatment and related issues.

Chronic pain often leads to domestic strife and to abuse of alcohol or other drugs.

The Oregon Pain Management Commission is part of the Department of Human Services.

Its members include 17 Oregonians appointed by the DHS director and two state legislators.
