Be Aware! Northbound I-5 Onramp From Kuebler Blvd. to be Closed Through Saturday

The ramp work is part of the I-5 N. Santiam to Kuebler Interchange Project that includes replacing six I-5 bridges and adding travel lanes in both directions.

(SALEM) - The northbound I-5 onramp from Kuebler Boulevard will be closed through Saturday. Crews will be working around the clock during the closure to rebuild the onramp.

New Study Finds Lack of Attention to Emotional Problems in Developmentally Disabled

The researchers found that only 10 percent of the young people received mental health interventions during the study.

(CORVALLIS) - Behavioral and emotional problems in mentally retarded children do not decrease substantially as they become adults, according to a new study from Oregon State University researchers and Australian colleagues.

The findings, which suggest a heightened need for mental health intervention, were published in the Oct. 25th issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association.

(SALEM) - Beginning Wednesday, Oregon grocery shoppers may be seeing mail-in discount coupons attached to six-packs of beer or wine bottles, under an Oregon Liquor Control Commission rule amendment.

Arrest Made in Historic Mizpah Hotel Fire

The fire at the historic downtown Reno hotel began just after 10:00 PM killed six and injured dozens.

(RENO, Nevada) - Reno police arrested 47-year-old Valerie Moorea a resident of the Mizpah Hotel in downtown Reno Wednesday morning on one count of first degree arson and multiple counts of murder for the fatal fire that broke out in the historic hotel late Tuesday night.
The arrest was announced Wednesday morning in a joint news briefing held near the scene of the fire by Reno Police Chief Michael Poehlman and Reno Fire Chief Paul Wagner.
Reno police detectives and fire investigators say that at least six individuals died in the fire that was reported at about 10:02 PM Tuesday in the Mizpah Hotel that was built in 1922.

Two Alarm Fire Destroys Northeast Salem Hobby Shop (VIDEO)

(SALEM) - A commercial fire destroyed an automotive hobby shop in Salem Halloween night. It appears that the fire may have been sparked by some late night welding. Bob Barnes and his brother Terry both worked out of the hobby shop located at 2890 Brooks Avenue NE.

Multi-Vehicle Rollover Truck Crash in Salem Sends 3 to Hospital

Salem Police are investigating.

(SALEM) - Traffic in Salem on Market Street was impacted for over an hour Tuesday morning, as police tried to figure out what caused a pickup with a man and his small daughter to roll over at the intersection of Market and Park.

Salem firefighters responded to the reported motor vehicle accident, finding two vehicles involved. They say a Chevy S10 pick had rolled over and ended up on corner of Market Street and Park Ave NE.

Teen Arrested For Threatening to Blow-Up South Salem High

There is no indication that the teen had any plans in place to commit the act police said.

(SALEM) - Salem police arrested a 15-year-old boy Tuesday for threatening to blow up South Salem High School. The teen is a student at the school and left a note on a wall on Monday afternoon threatening that people would die at the school on November 1st.

National Average Gasoline Price Fluctuating; Oregon Average Price Still on Downward Swing

The national average price decline goes up and down, closing the past week one-cent higher than previous week at $2.21. Oregon average price is still moving downward...$2.439. Fluctuation in the national average suggests some regions already have hit their lowest prices and prices are being adjusted upward to maintain profit margins.

(SALEM) - The national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline moved somewhat erratically in recent days and currently is $2.21, a penny higher than one week ago. Oregon's average, however, fell by slightly more than 4-cents per gallon to $2.439.

In a month's time, the gap between the Oregon and national average price has been narrowed from 39-cents to 22-cents per gallon.
