Sexual Predator Caught Trying to Rape 20-Year-Old Woman

(CORVALLIS) - A registered sex offender, in the middle of committing another sexual crime, was caught in the act by Corvallis Police.

Wyoming Rollover Accident Kills Two, Injures Three From Jefferson

Troopers in Wyoming said a van carrying the Jefferson residents began swerving and went into the median, then rolled over three times.

(ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo.) - A man and a child from Jefferson were killed Thursday when a van rolled over on Interstate 80 about 35 miles east of Rock Springs, Wyoming.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol says all five were in a 2005 Toyota van that was eastbound on I-80.

When the van drifted onto the left shoulder, 69-year-old Lyle Adams, of Jefferson, grabbed the steering wheel.

Western Oregon And Chemeketa Community College Create Dual Enrollment Program

Chemeketa Community College has similar dual-enrollment programs with Oregon State University and Portland State University.

(Monmouth, Oregon) - Western Oregon University has teamed with Chemeketa Community College to allow students to be jointly admitted and eligible to concurrently enroll in both institutions beginning fall 2006.

A dual-enrollment program offers students more options in curriculum and student activities, as well as access to student services at both institutions, including fee-based services.

Man Shot and Robbed in Keizer Early Saturday

The Keizer Police Department is asking anyone who may have witnessed this incident, individuals hearing what may have been a gunshot, or who may have otherwise seen the victim or suspect on or near River Road prior to 2:39 AM to contact them.

(KEIZER) - A Newberg man says he was shot through the hand and robbed while walking in the 4300 block of River Road North early Saturday morning around 2:30 AM.

Keizer Police were dispatched to a convenience store after the clerk called and said a man had come into the business with an injury to his hand. Then learned that the victim had been robbed and was injured during the course of the robbery.

Mental Health Issues Beget Hope of Mental Health Court

The combining of mental health resources is soon to give birth to a much needed Mental Health Court in Marion County. A meeting reflects this need as NAMI Marion-Polk honors recognition of Mental Health Week.

(SALEM) - “Community resources can come together and successfully protect the rights of the mentally ill.” That was the message of Thursday night’s meeting sponsored by NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

The gears have been set into motion for Marion County’s first “Mental Health Court” with the pooling together the expertise of Marion County District Attorney Walt Begleau, Marion County Health Department Division Director Marybeth Beall, Consumer Advocate David Romprey, and Circuit Court Judge Dennis Graves.

Many NAMI members were present Thursday evening to find out what this idea of a “Mental Health Court” would mean.
