Deputies and Detectives on Scene of Death Investigation

No information has been released regarding the gender or age of the deceased.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Nevada Street death Deputies from the Marion County Sheriff's Office responded to the report of dead body in the 4800 Block of Nevada St NE.

A citizen reported seeing the body off to the side of the road as they drove by and called the Sheriff's Office at approximately 6:15 p.m.

Lost Hubcap Fire Burning South of Monument, Oregon

The fire was reported around 1:30 p.m. Friday burning in grass, sagebrush and juniper fuels.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Monument, Oregon The Lost Hubcap Fire has burned 1,200-1,500 acres nine miles south of the community of Monument in the Central Oregon District's John Day Unit.

The Oregon Department of Forestry has two heavy air tankers, four single-engine air tankers and one helicopter fighting the fire, along with six fire engines, four bulldozers and district hand crews. Additional resources from the South Fork Complex are assisting.

Marion County Dog Services to Offer Amnesty, Licenses and Low Cost Vaccinations

Licenses are required within 30 days of becoming a dog owner or moving into Marion County.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Willamette Valley Humane Society Marion County Dog Services will host a Dog License Amnesty event offering amnesty on late fees and license violations, as well as a low cost vaccination clinic.

Santiam Equine Veterinary Clinic is partnering with Marion County Dog Services to provide low-cost vaccinations for dogs. FREE rabies vaccinations will be offered to the first 250 who also purchase a second preventative vaccine.

Oregon National Guard hosts Vietnam delegation visit through State Partnership Program

The week-long visit includes tours of emergency management and Oregon National Guard facilities.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon guard The Oregon National Guard is hosting a delegation from Vietnam's National Committee for Search and Rescue (VINASARCOM) this week, Aug. 24-30, as part of the ongoing State Partnership Program.

Vice Admiral Pham Ngoc Minh, Deputy Chief of General Staff of Vietnam People's Army and Vice Standing Chairman of VINASARCOM, leads the delegation, which also includes other VINASARCOM experts in search and rescue, firefighting, explosion and building collapse, finance planning and investment, and foreign relations.

Citizen`s Driving Complaint Leads to Arrest of Medford Man in Stolen Vehicle in Wilsonville Area

The driver drew attention to himself by his carelessness.

(WILSONVILLE, Ore.) - Oregon State Police Oregon State Police (OSP), with the assistance of Wilsonville Police Department, arrested a 29-year old male Thursday after the suspect fled a stolen vehicle on foot and was found several minutes later by Wilsonville police.

On August 28, 2014 at approximately 12:37 p.m., OSP troopers were notified of a recklessly driven GMC Envoy sport utility vehicle northbound on Interstate 5 near Salem. The license plate information indicated the vehicle was stolen out of Medford.

(SEATTLE) - Seattle city street Whether you're directionally challenged or a navigational pro, the latest poll from PEMCO Insurance reveals that most Northwest drivers find a GPS to be the lesser of two evils when it comes to technology distractions on the open road.

According to the PEMCO Insurance Northwest Poll, nearly half of drivers in Washington and Oregon (47 percent) think it's less distracting to use a GPS while driving, when compared to talking or texting on a cell phone while at the wheel.
