Update On Springfield Police Officer-Involved Shooting In Linn County

Amanda Gatewood is listed in stable condition

(ALBANY, Ore. ) - Recovered Replica Handgun The Linn County Major Crime Team is continuing to investigate the officer-involved shooting by a Springfield Police Officer on Thursday, August 28, 2014, at about 1:30 a.m. The shooting took place at the Jackson's Chevron station located at 33157 Highway 34 in Linn County following a vehicle pursuit.

The surveillance video shows the driver of the vehicle, 44-year-old Amanda Lynn Gatewood, run towards the store entrance holding the replica handgun to her head. Amanda Gatewood is then seen pointing the replica handgun back at officers.

Maryam Al-khawaja is a prominent human rights defender in Bahrain and is Co-Director of the Gulf Centre for Human Rights. She is the sister of human rights defender Ms Zainab Al-Khawaja and daughter of Abdulhadi Al-Khawaja.

Oregon Coast Aquarium Launches Operation Otter Awareness

The Aquarium’s regular line-up of sea otter-related education is in full swing!

(NEWPORT, Ore. ) - sea otter pup The Oregon Coast Aquarium’s resident sea otters, Judge, 14, Schuster, 3, Nuka, 1 and Oswald, 10 months, will co-host over a dozen educational activities on Saturday, September 27 when the Oregon Coast Aquarium celebrates Sea Otter Awareness Week.

The Aquarium hopes the effort will help stamp sea otters’ place at the forefront of Oregonians’ hearts and minds. These marine members of the weasel family play a vital role in nearshore coastal ecosystems. Sea otters, Enhydra lutris, are currently considered extinct off Oregon’s coast and are listed under the Endangered Species Act in their existing range.

9-Year Old Girl Dies in Lincoln City When Sand Collapses

The child was buried by the sand for about five minutes.

(LINCOLN CITY, Ore.) - beach rescue A 9-year-old girl who was pulled from the sand after it apparently collapsed on her Friday has died, according to the North Lincoln Fire & Rescue District No. 1. She died at the hospital.

Police officers helped get the girl out of a hole that she was buried in, according to Lt. Jerry Palmer, of the Lincoln City Police Department. He said when they got to her she was unconscious and not breathing.

Shot Fired at Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution Kills Inmate

The institution is currently on lockdown status and visiting is canceled until further notice.

(PENDLETON, Ore.) - EOCI building front Today, an Oregon Department of Corrections Correctional Officer fired a shot to prevent imminent serious bodily injury to an inmate being assaulted at Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution (EOCI).

The Correctional Officer fired the shot from a yard tower after two inmates who were assaulting a third inmate failed to disengage.
