John Yoo and The Senate Torture Report

John Choon Yoo, aka John Yoo, authored the Torture Memos used to justify torture of human beings by the Bush Administration.

(SAN FRANCISCO) - Professor John Yoo stepped away from his lectern at the UC Berkeley School of Law to send an e-mail to the San Francisco Chronicle criticizing the forthcoming Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI) torture report saying that if "torture was used and it didn't work, she [Senator Dianne Feinstein] is flat wrong." Yoo claimed the report failed to maintain "bipartisanship" that "will undermine its conclusions."

I suspect that this is a preemptive attack by Yoo as the release of the Senate torture report will probably place Yoo on the hotseat again. The SSCI Torture report has been approved for public release. However, the SSCI and the CIA are fighting over the CIA's substantial redactions to the torture report summary.

Search Underway on Oregon Coast for Two Missing Campers

(TILLAMOOK, Ore. ) - Tillamook County Search and Rescue teams will be out looking for two male campers who failed to return to their campsite early Tuesday morning.

The Tillamook County Sheriff's Office says the two men, ages 35 and 53, left their campsite around 11:30 a.m. from the Cedar Creek Campgrounds off Oregon Highway 6.

One employee said she heard the shots along with her manager, and looked outside and saw people diving under cars, parents picking-up small children, and cars speeding out of the area.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Marion County Sheriff's Deputies and Detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred Wednesday night in northeast Salem in the parking lot of the Rock Wood Fired Pizza and Spirits restaurant.

Salem-News.com is on scene, and a waitress at the restaurant, located at 3610 Center St NE, said an individual was shot in their parking lot on the south side of the building, and made their way and fell near a home at 620 36th Ave. NE.

Police: Missing Salem Teen`s Own Parents Pose Danger to Her

The missing teen fled from a foster home on August 13, she has not been in contact with her relatives, and her whereabouts are currently unknown.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Salem Police are asking for the public's help in locating a missing 15-year-old girl who's own parents police say may pose a danger to her.

Salem Police spokesman Lt. Dave Okada says on August 12, Bethany Desanto was contacted by a Salem Police Officer when she was found living with her homeless mother in Minto Brown Island Park.
