Salem-Keizer Elementary Schools Holding Kindergarten Nighttime Registration

(SALEM) - All Salem-Keizer Elementary Schools are holding a special evening registration on Thursday from 5 to 8 PM, to allow kindergarten-age children to register for the 2006-07 school year.

In order to register a child for kindergarten, the child must be five years old on or before September 1.

Parents will need to provide legal proof of their child`s age, (a birth certificate is preferred), and an updated record of their child`s immunizations.

Volunteers Sought to Serve on Keizer Committees

Applications need to be submitted by Wednesday, April 5th

(KEIZER) - The City of Keizer is soliciting applications for volunteers to be considered to serve on the following committees:

The Keizer Points of Interest Committee was established by the Keizer City Council to identify, authenticate, and memorialize sites of interest located in the Keizer area. Sites to be identified may be of the historical, geographical, botanical, or the unusual.

Mistaken Traffic Stop Causes Ruckus in Salem Saturday Night

We've had several requests for information on what happened Saturday night in Salem on Commercial near the intersection of Browning.

(SALEM) - A line of police cars Saturday night on Commercial Street near Browning Road drew major attention from local residents around 8:00 PM that night. It was at traffic stop, and a case of mistaken identity.

One witness who called Salem-News.com said he couldn't believe what he was seeing, "The cops were screaming at this guy to get out of his car and he was yelling at them."

Driver Without Headlights Hits 120 MPH Then Wipes Out While Fleeing Police

Clackamas County deputies on the scene say the vehicle rolled numerous times while the driver was ejected onto State Hwy 26.

(Clackamas) - Deputies in Clackamas County say they saw a driver operating a gray 1990 Toyota without headlights just after 11:30 PM Sunday.

Warm Spring authorities report this vehicle may have been taken by force earlier in the evening during a strong armed robbery event.

Lincoln County Holding School Shooting Drill During Spring Break

Oregon Women Veterans Conference is Set for Wednesday

(ALBANY) - Women veterans from every branch of the service and of all ages and backgrounds will gather in Albany at the Linn County Expo Center, March 23rd, for the bi-annual Oregon Women`s Veterans Conference.

Many women who served in the military do not realize that they miss out on the benefits they earned as a result of their service. This one-day conference serves as an educational tool, and more importantly a day of celebration for the service and sacrifices of women veterans throughout history in defense of our country.
