Salem Police Issue 50 Tickets During Crosswalk Safety Campaign

This safety campaign was conducted in partnership with Oregon Impact in order to address pedestrian and crosswalk safety.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Salem Oregon Police The Salem Police Department conducted a four-hour pedestrian crosswalk project on Wednesday on Commercial Street NE at Columbia Street.

This location has a marked, painted crosswalk, police said. Eight officers participated in the project which included an officer dressed in plain clothes who crossed the street in the crosswalk.

3 Escape Overnight House Fire in Keizer

Investigators say the fire was caused by an unattended candle.

(KEIZER, Ore. ) - Keizer Fire A family of three was able to escape a house fire in Keizer late Wednesday night.

Keizer firefighters were called to a home 3500 block of Cherry Avenue. Two engine companies, a ladder company a medic unit and a command officer, ten firefighters in all, arrived in less than five minutes.

Police will be conducting further aerial searches that will cover the west and central section of Yamhill County on Thursday and Friday.

(NEWBERG, Ore. ) - Jennifer Huston Missing Oregon Mother Thursday marks one week since an Oregon mom vanished after leaving her Dundee home to run errands, and was last seen getting gas at a Newberg gas station.

Family and friends of 38-year-old Jennifer Huston will continue their air and ground search again today, while Salem-News.com has learned that on the Find Jennifer Huston page on Facebook, searchers have started an interactive map where those who have searched areas for the missing mom, can post the locations they have searched so others can focus on other areas.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Salem Hoopla Dunk Workers in and around the Oregon State Capitol Mall may smell something they haven't smelled in a long, long, time.

That smell will be coming from just in front of the Capitol steps at the Bob's Hamburgers booth, which is part of this year's Oregon National Guard Hoopla. State workers, and everyone can enjoy a Salem classic starting at 11:00 a.m. till 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.

Portland Police Investigating Possible Gang Related Shooting

So far, police have found no gunshot victims, and are asking for the public's help in their investigation.

(PORTLAND, Ore. ) - Shooting Investigation Portland Police are investigating what could be a gang related shooting Wednesday afternoon in NE Portland.

Portland Police spokesman Sgt. Pete Simpson says officers responded at 3:43 p.m., to multiple 9-1-1 calls of shots fired in the area of Northeast 12th Avenue and Schuyler Street.

Improperly Disposed of Cigarette to blame for Fire at Portland Sizzlers

Damage estimates are set at $40,000. No injuries were reported.

(PORTLAND, Ore. ) - Portland Fire and Rescue At 7:02 p.m. Tuesday evening, Portland Fire and Rescue responded to a Commercial fire at 3737 SE 82nd Ave, Sizzlers Restaurant.

When firefighters arrived they found a fire on an exterior wall that had extended into the building. The restaurant was occupied at the time but everyone was able to evacuate safely.

Suspect, Vehicle Sought After a Week of Threats Against an Amity Family

Police say the suspect was injured during Wednesday afternoon's incident, and could have a significant injury to his lower left abdomen.

(AMITY, Ore. ) - Oregon State Police Police in McMinnville and Amity are searching for a suspect and vehicle in connection with a week long investigation involving multiple threats and assaults against a family living on Highway 99E in Amity.

The suspect fled the scene in a 1990's red or maroon SUV -- possibly a Chevy Blazer or similar body design -- with a male driver and a white female passenger.
