(TEL AVIV, Isreal ) - Israeli Military The Israeli Security Cabinet on Tuesday morning has accepted the Egyptian proposal for a ceasefire that, from Israel's perspective, went into effect at 9:00 a.m.

Diplomatic officials said the security cabinet's decision to halt the operation at this point will give Israel international legitimacy to continue it widespread military action if Hamas does not stop its rocket attacks.

Salem Man Sleeps While Home Catches Fire

Residents should check their smoke detectors and replace if needed.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - salem fire Just before 8:00 a.m. Monday morning, Marion County Fire District #1 firefighters where called to the intersection of Hollywood and Leafwood Ave NE in Salem for smoke showing from a home.

Arriving firefighters quickly extinguished a small fire on the outside of the home that was just starting to work its way into the attic. While firefighters were searching the structure they found one resident sleeping and assisted him outside unharmed.

Lightning-Caused Fires Burning Throughout Willamette National Forest

Two new fires were detected Monday afternoon were on the McKenzie River Ranger District.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Willamette National Forest Firefighters continue to respond to reports of over 65 lightning sparked fires from storms that crossed over the Cascades Sunday.

Most of the fires are small, ranging from a single burning tree to less than ¼ acre in size. Six new fires were found this afternoon. The largest fire on the forest, the Bingham Complex, is located on the Detroit Ranger District.

Southern Oregon Wildfire Grows; Six Homes Destroyed

231 structures are currently threatened by the fire.

(KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. ) - Moccasin Hill Fire The Moccasin Hill Fire, burning just north of Sprague River and northeast of Klamath Falls, is now at 2508 acres.

First reported Sunday at 2:00 p.m., the fire has destroyed a total of 20 structures, including six homes in and around the Moccasin Hill subdivision

Suspect Pulls Gun on Salem Target Store Employees

Do not attempt to contact the suspect he is believed to be armed and dangerous.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Salem Target Suspect Marion County Sheriff's detectives are seeking the public help in locating a suspect who they say pulled a firearm on security officers after a theft at the Salem Target store on Center Street, Monday afternoon.

Marion County Sheriff's spokesman Sergeant Chris Baldridge says the suspect is a white male, in his 30's, approximately 6'3, 190 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

3 Arrested in McMinnville Drug Raid

The case is ongoing and further charges and arrests are anticipated.

(McMINNVILLE, Ore. ) - Daniel Joseph Martin Mug Shot On Saturday, at about 5:00 a.m, McMinnville Officers and Yamhill County Sheriff's Office deputies served a search warrant for narcotics at 2400 SE Stratus Avenue #88.

The basis of the warrant was information provided by citizens that had noted apparent drug activity occurring at that residence or with the resident, 32-year-old Daniel Joseph Martin.

Oregon Senator Wants Free, Open Competition on the Internet

Wyden authored and pushed for the passage of legislation that protect the Internet from onerous litigation, discriminatory taxation, and excessive regulation.

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - Oregon Senator Ron Wyden Senator Ron Wyden, D-Ore., urged the Federal Communications Commission to preserve free and open competition on the Internet, in comments filed on Monday.

In his submission, Wyden called for the commission to do that by reclassifying broadband providers as Title II common carriers, enforcing rules to ban paid prioritization and ensuring more transparency for consumers.

Teenage Girl from Silverton Killed in Accident Near Salem

It is unknown at this time if speeds or alcohol were a factor in the crash.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Brittany Perry Crash A 17-year-old girl from Silverton has died, following an accident Sunday morning after her vehicle slammed into a tree on Hazelgreen road about five miles east of Salem.

Marion County Sheriff spokesman Sergeant Jeff Stutrud says the driver, Brittany Perry, was taken to the Salem Hospital where she was treated and ultimately died.

Tillamook Cheese Tour VW Mini Buses Stolen in California

It shouldn’t be too hard to spot the vehicles, as all of them are custom-painted orange with the “Tillamook” logo emblazoned on the sides.

(MANTECA, Calif. ) - Tillamook Cheese Tour Police say that the whole Tillamook Cheese Tour truck caravan was stolen from the parking lot of a Manteca hotel Saturday morning.

The trailer was parked at the Hampton Inn along Bass Pro Drive in Manteca, Manteca Police say. At some point between 12:30 and 6:30 a.m., police say, thieves took off with the whole caravan of vehicles – which not only includes a pickup truck and a trailer, but three classic Volkswagen Mini Buses.
