One person suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Fire Destroys Motorhome, Starts Grass Fire East of Salem

A nearby farm had to evacuate some animals from a barn during the blaze.

(AUMSVILLE, Ore. ) - Aumsville Fire A motorhome caught fire Saturday afternoon near the town of Aumsville, Ore. just east of Salem causing a nearby field to catch on fire as well.

Aumsville Fire tells Salem-News.com that once first units arrived on scene at 6858 Sherman Road SE, they quickly called in for a second alarm.

Israel`s Offensive has Killed 145 Palestinians Since Tuesday

Israel is keeping its options open for a possible ground offensive into densely populated Gaza despite international pressure to negotiate a ceasefire in the conflict.

(GAZA CITY) - Israeli air strike An Israeli air strike on the home of Gaza's police chief killed 18 people on Saturday, Gaza's health ministry said, and Hamas fired the largest salvo of rockets yet on Tel Aviv since the start of the Jewish state's offensive in the Palestinian enclave.

The strike on the home of Tayseer Al-Batsh in Gaza City was the deadliest bombing since Israel launched its offensive on Tuesday to end Palestinian rocket fire into its territory.

Oregon State Chaplain Promoted to Colonel

Colonel Scott Delbridge has served in various chaplain roles throughout his time in the military.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Oregon National Guard Oregon National Guard Lt. Colonel Scott Delbridge, recently appointed as State Chaplain, was promoted to colonel in a ceremony held at Heritage Park in Salem, on Saturday.

The ceremony was attended by family, friends and members of the military, both currently serving and retired.

(DALLAS, Ore. ) - Polk County Sheriff Polk County Sheriff Bob Wolfe continues to express concern regarding the ability of his agency to handle calls due to loss of staff and budget reductions.

Sheriff Bob Wolfe said, "Since July of last year we have lost several experienced deputies and reduced our patrol hours to just 10 hours per day in March of this year"

Protesters Demand New Investigation into Death of Jacklynn Ford

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Jacklynn Rashaun Ford About a dozen protesters took to the streets of downtown Salem Friday afternoon, demanding that a new investigation begin in the death of 25-year Jacklynn Rashaun Ford.

Ford was shot on Friday May 9, after 12-year veteran Salem police officer Trevor Morrison, made a traffic stop on a vehicle on Watson Ave NE near Alameda St NE at approximately 10:07 p.m.

Oregon Couple Accused of Killing Newborn Daughter

The investigation in this case is ongoing.

(PORTLAND, Ore. ) - Death Investigation Portland police have arrested a couple on Murder by Abuse and Manslaughter charges in connection with the April 12 death of their newborn child.

North precinct officers arrested 29-year-old Sarah Mangus and 34-year-old Jamie Mangus both of Portland, after being indicted earlier this week by a grand jury.

Oregon Coast Health Advisory Lifted at Two Beaches

State officials continue to encourage other recreational activities -- flying kites, picnicking, playing on the beach, and walking -- at all Oregon beaches.

(LINCOLN CITY, Ore. ) - D River Beach A public health advisory for contact with marine water at D River Beach, located in Lincoln County, and Heceta Beach in Lane County was lifted late Friday by the Oregon Health Authority.

The advisory was issued July 10 after water samples showed higher-than-normal levels of fecal bacteria in ocean waters.
