Americans Can Expect Record Gas Prices over Independence Day Holiday

Willingness to take on credit card debt, not an increase in income, will be responsible for the increase in Independence Day holiday consumer spending AAA says.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - US Gas Prices With a projected 41 million Americans expected to take to the road over the Independence Day holiday, AAA says drivers can expect to pay the highest gas prices since 2008.

AAA says the majority of travelers will travel 50 miles or more away from home, an almost two percent increase from last year, and a 14 percent increase compared to the Memorial Day holiday weekend.

Two Arrested After Molalla Man Shot in the Leg

Through interviewing those involved, deputies located the shotgun believed to have been used in this incident, as well as a stolen rifle.

ISIS, Iraqi Army Battle for Control of Tikrit

Insurgents, led by the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIS), were reported to have shot down a helicopter and captured the pilot.

(TIKRIT, Iraq) - Iraq ISIS Map Aircraft have struck at rebel positions and clashes have broken out in various parts of the city, witnesses and officials have said.

Troops had reportedly pulled back to the nearby town of Dijla as Saturday's initial offensive met stiff resistance. The city of Tikrit was captured by Sunni rebels on June 11 as they swept across large parts of northern Iraq.

Israeli Aircraft Strike Six Targets in the Gaza Strip

Three people were injured in the attack on the Israeli factory, a paint manufacturing plant in the southern town of Sderot.

(GAZA ) - Israel Palestinian War Israeli aircraft attacked at least six militant targets in the Gaza Strip on Sunday, hours after rockets fired from the Palestinian territory set a factory in Israel on fire, Israeli and Palestinian officials said.

Palestinian medics said two people were wounded in air strikes on eight sites. Israeli officials said only six sites were bombed.

Benghazi Attack Supected Ringleader Pleads Not Guilty

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - Ahmed Abu Khatallah Ahmed Abu Khatallah, the alleged suspect of the deadly attacks on a U.S. diplomatic facility in Benghazi, Libya, in 2012, entered a not guilty plea in federal court in Washington on Saturday.

According to court sources, prosecutors also unveiled a one count grand jury indictment charging him with conspiracy to provide material support to terrorism resulting in death. The crime is punishable by up to life in prison, or death.

During the investigation, police seized nearly 2 pounds of methamphetamine and over 2 ounces of heroin.

(DALLAS, Ore. ) - Meth and Money The Polk County Inter-Agency Narcotics Team on Thursday, completed several drug investigations that began earlier this month.

And one thing was consistent between all of them, large amounts of methamphetamine and heroin where being distributed throughout the non-incorporated parts of Polk County and also in the cities of West Salem, Dallas, Monmouth, Independence, Falls City and Grand Ronde.
