UN Says Over 1,000 Killed in Iraq in June

Abductions continue to be reported in the northern provinces and in Baghdad.

(BAGHDAD, Iraq) - More than 1,000 people, mainly civilians, have been killed and roughly the same number injured in fighting and other violence in Iraq in June as Sunni militants swept through the north, the United Nations said on Tuesday.

Victims include a number of confirmed summary executions committed by forces of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant -- ISIL -- and prisoners killed by retreating Iraqi forces.

Man Sexually Assaults Teen Girl in SE Salem Home

The man was described as small, about 5'5, thin build, shoulder length hair pulled back into a pony tail.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - The Marion County Sheriff's department is asking for the public's help in locating a man suspected of breaking into a southeast Salem home and sexually assaulting a teenage girl.

Sheriff's spokesman Sergeant Chris Baldridge says the incident happened at a residence located on State Street SE.

The blast in the north's biggest city hit the Kano State School of Hygiene, the source said.

Oregon law bans possession, use, or sale of fireworks that fly, explode, or travel more than six feet on the ground or 12 inches into the air.

Police Searching for Missing Oregon State Hospital Patient

Shawn C. Hall was last seen at the Home Town Buffet on 82nd Avenue in Portland at approximately 12:15 p.m. on Monday.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - The Oregon State Police is asking for the public's help in locating a 37-year-old psychiatric patient from Oregon State Hospital in Salem.

OSP spokesman Lt. Gregg Hastings says the patient, Shawn C. Hall, is not considered to be a danger to himself or others. He went missing on Monday.

FBI, Police in Oregon Target Child Sex Trafficking Operations

Many of the adults had been trafficked since they were 13 or 14 years old.

(PORTLAND, Ore. ) - The FBI, local law enforcement partners and victim service agencies from throughout the region joined forces to launch multi-day undercover operations targeting child sex trafficking operations in the Portland metro and Eugene areas.

These operations, which ran June 18th - June 22nd, resulted in the recovery of one minor child and the identification of 20 adult prostitutes.

Many of the adults had been trafficked since they were 13 or 14 years old.
