UPDATE: Missing 9-Year-Old Child in West Salem Found Safe

The child, William Cruz, was last seen walking southbound on Patterson St NW in West Salem from Walker Middle School at about 3:15 p.m. Friday.

Man Assaults Oregon Farmer Over Use of Bird Cannons

Several firearms and ammunition have been seized from the suspects home.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Luke Adam Chapman A local farmer was assaulted after a neighbor became enraged from the sounds being put off by "bird cannons".

The incident occurred Thursday night at 8:00 p.m., in the 8700 block of Umatilla Street NE, located in the rural northeast portion of Marion County.

Salem Man Falls Asleep; Causes Head-On Crash

Police are still investigating the crash.

(WOODBURN, Ore. ) - Woodburn Crash Oregon State Police is continuing the investigation into Thursday evening's two vehicle head-on crash that occurred on Highway 211 about a mile east of Woodburn.

Both vehicles to rest on an embankment along the shoulder and some of the occupants were entrapped. Firefighters from Woodburn Fire District, Molalla Rural Fire Protection District, and Marion County Fire District 1 responded to the scene for extrication.

According to other family members and contacts, Brown was in Portland with his wife who had checked into a hospital.

(PORTLAND, Ore. ) - Randel Jon Brown The Oregon State Police continues to ask for the public's help to locate a missing, possibly endangered 51-year old Springfield man last seen March 8 at the Gateway Transit Center in Portland.

On April 21, the mother of 51-year-old Randel Jon Brown, contacted OSP Klamath Falls detectives to report her son had been missing since March 8.

Salem Woman Arrested on Felony Warrant; Other Charges

Subsequent investigation identified the driver as 24-year-old Tiffany Marie Westmoreland, from Salem.

(McMINNVILLE, Ore. ) - Tiffany Marie Westmoreland Oregon State Police, with the assistance of McMinnville Police Department, arrested a wanted Salem woman following a driving-related incident Thursday afternoon.

At approximately 3:21 p.m., OSP and Yamhill County 9-1-1 received driving complaints of an erratically driven Dodge pickup eastbound on Highway 18 near milepost 40 west of McMinnville.

Her 79-year old male passenger was visibly intoxicated and was not arrested.

Gusty winds are predicted for this afternoon and evening, which could challenge firefighters.

(KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. ) - Bryant Fire The Bryant Fire reported Thursday afternoon burning 20 miles east of Klamath Falls on the NE end of Bryant Mountain has grown to 800 acres.

The fire is burning in an active logging operation in felled and bucked timber on steep, rugged terrain. The fire is spotting in all directions.

Warning Issued for Foster Reservoir Users This Summer

Linn County Parks will install extra dock sections at the Lewis Creek moorages to extend them into deeper water.

(SWEET HOME, Ore. ) - Foster Reservoir The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers alerts boaters and other users of Foster Reservoir near Sweet Home, Ore., that the reservoir has been filled to an elevation of 635 feet above sea level for the summer of 2014; about two feet lower than usual.

All boat ramps and Edgewater Marinas should still be accessible.
