Preliminary Information: Double Fatal Traffic Crash - Highway 34 near Lebanon in Linn County

The highway was closed over four hours during the investigation.

(ALBANY, Or.) - fatal crash Oregon State Police (OSP) is continuing the investigation into the cause of an early Saturday morning double fatal traffic crash involving two vehicles on Highway 34 west of Lebanon. The names of the four occupants in one of the vehicles will be released later pending confirmation of next of kin notifications for the two deceased victims.

Preliminary investigation indicates on April 5, 2014 at approximately 1:22 a.m., a passenger car driven by a female with three male occupants was eastbound on Highway 34 near milepost 17.

President Declares Disaster in Oregon for 2014 Winter Storm

According to the declaration, additional designations may be made at a later date if requested by the State and warranted by the results of further damage assessments.

(WASHINGTON DC) - The Oregon Office of Emergency Management (OEM) logo The President has declared a disaster declaration for Oregon to help recover from damage caused by the Severe Winter Storm in February 2014. FEMA is providing financial assistance for emergency work, and repairs or replacement of public infrastructure in Benton, Lane, Lincoln and Linn counties.

The majority of the damages were to public utilities as a result of snow, ice, winds and flooding in the affected counties.

Two Dead in Crash on Oregon Highway 22 Near Dallas

The male drivers of both vehicles were pronounced deceased at the scene.

(DALLAS) - Fatal crash Oregon State Police (OSP), with the assistance of Polk County District Attorney's Office and Keizer Police Department, are continuing the investigation into the cause of a Friday evening two vehicle double fatal traffic crash along Highway 22 about three miles west of Dallas.

The crash resulted in the death of two males and serious injuries to another male and a female.

(HOUSTON) - Mark Clemens, MD Even four decades later, veterans exposed to Agent Orange during the Vietnam War have twice the risk of developing unusually invasive nonmelanotic skin cancers compared with the general population, according to a recent study.

“We noticed a lot of veterans coming into our clinic had very aggressive squamous and basal cell carcinomas, and it seemed like there was a connection to Agent Orange exposure...” said Mark Clemens, MD, at Univ. of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.

(SALEM) - Car vs pedestrian in Salem, Oregon 4-3-14 A woman was struck by a car Thursday night around 9:00 p.m. on Lancaster Drive NE at D Street, as she crossed from west to east. Two witnesses at the scene spoke to Salem-News about what they saw.

Emalee Brown, a customer in the Dutch Brothers drive-through said, "I was sitting at Dutch Brothers and there was a lady walking in the crosswalk, and she hadn't really made it to the middle lane yet. The car was coming from McDonald's when the light was red."

Explosion at Ernst Irrigation Rocks St. Paul

"I heard a very loud boom when I was coming out to my car" - witness, Mark Winder

(ST. PAUL) - Lifeflight Firefighters in Saint Paul called for a Life Flight helicopter after responding to an emergency at Ernst Irrigation where an apparent industrial fire broke out. The Life Flight was eventually canceled, and the patient was transported to the hospital by ground ambulance.

Fire officials confirmed that an explosion occurred and one man was injured. The blast and fire happened at Ernst Irrigation, 20179 Main Street.

School Placed in Lockdown During Police Search for Man Who Bolted from Traffic Stop

Police used canine units to track the man through South Salem, he was eventually located and taken into custody on Suntree Court. This is an area near the now closed Fairview Training Center.

(SALEM) - Police car A middle school was placed on lock down as police in Salem spent hours tracking a suspect who bolted from his car during a traffic stop. It happened in south Salem today around 12:30 p.m. The incident began near Pringle Road.

Leslie Middle School was locked down from 12:45 to 2:40 p.m. No students were impacted.
