Israeli Extremists Ready to Storm Ancient Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem

More than 1500 worshippers performed the dawn prayer in Rihab al-Aqsa Mosque Sunday.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Soldiers by the hundred were deployed by Israel early Saturday morning to the vicinity of the holy al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem. Many have assembled at the Maghareba gate, perfectly situated to block the entrance of worshippers on Sunday.

Najeh Bukairat, the head of the manuscripts and heritage in the Aqsa mosque, told Quds Press that "hundreds of border policemen and police forces were pouring into the vicinity of the mosque since the early morning hours", and he called on Palestinians to flock to the holy site starting with dawn prayers on Sunday. 1500 had arrived by dawn.

According to the Palestinian Information Center, Bukairat said that Likud party leaders have vowed to storm the Aqsa mosque on Sunday to perform Talmudic rituals.

The Likud party is the major center-right political party in Israel, founded in 1973 by Menachem Begin and now leads the Israeli government under Prime Minister Netanyahu.

The al-Aqsa Mosque: treasured for centuries.

Members of the right-wing party declared that they would break-in to al-Aqsa mosque on Sunday, the 12th of February, so that they can build their temple on the ruins of the mosque.

Thousands of Likud party members were called upon via websites and social networking. The announcement says "we invite everyone to climb the temple mount to announce a sound leadership, which confirms the full control over the temple mount, to cleanse the area from Israel's enemy, the lands' thieves. We aim to build the temple over the ruins of al-Aqsa mosque."

According to writer Gil Hoffman, the Left-wing organizations Ir Amim and Keshev sent Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu a letter on Saturday urging him to prevent Likud activist Moshe Feiglin from leading Likud central committee members to the Temple Mount on Sunday.

Hoffman wrote that the Leftist groups warned that Feiglin's visit could spark a third Intifada. Feiglin's spokesman responded that there was nothing special about his visit and that he goes to the Temple Mount every year on Sunday's date, the 19th of Shvat.

Edited photo released by the Military Rabbinate
shows the Temple Mount missing the Dome.

Najeh Bukairat addressed calls to Muslims worldwide, saying that the al-Aqsa mosque is in real danger and the Israeli occupation authority is adamant on storming the site to build their own temple.

To confirm this as more than a mere idea, earlier this week, a photograph was released by Military Rabbinate showing the Temple Mount without Dome of the Rock- it was edited out and published under the heading: “The Festival of Jewish Heroism”.

The Dome of Rock is the golden roof of the al-Aqsa mosque, the third holiest site in Sunni Islam. It has been there since ancient times.

The historic Mosque and area spans over 35 acres of fountains, gardens, buildings and domes. At its southernmost end is al-Aqsa Mosques, which was built by Khalifa Omar Bin Al-Kattab in the year 19 Hijri, at its center is the celebrated Dome of the Rock. The entire area is regarded as Baitul-Maqdis or Al-Qudus and comprises nearly one sixth of the walled city of Jerusalem.

That fixed photograph may have been a Freudian slip if plans to demolish the mosque are underway. By many standards, this was a blasphemous move.

It is written in the Jewish holy book, Talmund, that the first temple of Jerusalem, the Temple Mount was built there and so it is generally accepted that it once stood on that site. As the Temple Mount is considered the holiest site in Judaism, it has always been a goal for some to see the land back in Jewish control.

Palestinians believe this intrusion is a way to deny the presence and rights of the Muslims holy building, and to show that the Israelis want to be in charge there.

The governor of Jerusalem, Adnan al Husseini, told Palestine News Network that this is not the first time the Israelis have published this kind of photo, "This is a promotional process for supporting the case of changing the reality, and this is a policy of many settlement organizations in the world. A try to publish another reality to let the world feel that they lost something, which is the structure, and that al-Aqsa Mosque was built on the Structure's spot," said Husseini.

There is an all-call to the Palestinian people, especially children of the city of Jerusalem and the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948 decamp to come to the Al Aqsa Mosque to thwart the attempt to break into Al Aqsa.

The Al-Aqsa institution said in a press release that "traveling to al-Aqsa mosque, every time a year, would be a way to keep and secure the mosque from being profaned, and to keep its Sacredness."

It also stated that "those Israeli continuous invitations reflect the Israel's intentions and goals towards al-Aqsa mosque. We call on the Arabic World in general and the Islamic Nation in specific to hold responsibility to stop the Israeli arrogances and procedures."

"It is important for the whole world to see what Israel is trying to do, to delete what exists in reality and just replace it for Israeli benefits.

"I don't blame anyone but the Arab countries, which are standing watching al-Aqsa mosque getting destroyed," said Adnan al Husseini.

Many arriving at the mosque were surprised as police have prevented Likud leader MK Moshe Feiglin from entering the Temple Mount Sunday morning, according to the Jerusalem Post, accusing Feiglin and Likud activists of attempting to disrupt the order at the site. The extremist leader and three activists went to pray at the Western Wall after their plan was foiled.

Jerusalem Police Chief Nisso Shaham closed the Temple Mount to all non-Muslim visitors Sunday morning, disappointing Groups of Italian and Japanese tourists reported on Twitter that they were crushed to be unable to see Temple Mount.

Another View of Islamic peace: The Syrian “Revolt” (200 Christians killed in Homs by Free Syrian Army) "...The Syrian Christians to a man told me that the “freedom fighters” where nothing more than Sunni Jihadists looking to take advantage of the various “Arab Spring” movements that had been successfully overthrowing stable dictatorships throughout the region in favor of radicalized Muslim groups affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood and al Qaeda. They told me at that time that these groups were not only the main aggressors in the conflict, but that they were specifically targeting Christians for both religious persecution and for political retaliation. Several told me that in Homs the graffiti left by the insurgents often stated, “Alawites to the grave, Christians to the cross.” They told me that rather than the Syrian Army crushing this resistance movement as the Iranians had in 2009, they were actually trying to protect their core constituents from a murder and intimidation campaign that was beginning to mirror what al Qaeda had perpetrated in Iraq during 05-06.

The clear strategy of the “freedom fighters” was to attack civilian targets and local police as a way of drawing the Army into a campaign of suppression that they could use to fight the media battle in the western press. Funny, that strategy rings a bell doesn’t it? http://www.blackfive.net/main/2012/02/another-view-of-the-syrian-revolt.html
The big point here is that you have radical Muslims (Hezbollah) fighting radical Muslims (Al Qaeda), and if your not a muslim, you will die. The way I look at it, Sunnis are responsible for countless thousands of dead Americans (and were the biggest slavers the world has ever known, even the Romans of over 2,000 years ago) whereas Shiites are responsible for about 300. Sunnis are also 90% of the world's Muslim population.

Only the strong will survive. You do not turn the other cheek. If someone says they are going to cause you harm, preempt that possibility forever. Best defense is a good offense, and do not let your enemy see another sunrise. Wipe them out, and the Islamic extremists declared war on us 1300 years ago, time to "gitter done..." Best to start ASAP.

Editor: It is no wonder there is so much hatred in this world, you are a sad case at best.

Joe Ben many of the Christian publications keep a daily list of criminal acts against their faith. It would be very unlikely for this site to make an ongoing comparative list on say Muslims being killed by Christians and Mosques destroyed by Christians and just the opposite. Frankly it would be pretty unlikely outside of Iraq/Aghanistan to see any death/destruction of Islamic people or structures by Christians, but on a daily level all across the globe you will have accounts of Christians being brutally killed/beat and their holy sites destroyed. How this will all play out will be a complete wipe out of either Muslims or Christians. I think I know who will be left standing.

EDITOR: This may be true, but why only the Muslims and Christians? What about the other faiths? Perhaps they will all be wiped out, or perhaps they will all find a better alternative and learn to live in peace. Then no one will need to worry about their places of worship being destroyed, or their belief-system disrespected. "...and the meek shall inherit the earth."

Thats too bad that a group of extremists threats can ruin the only chance for some people to see the Dome. Its a very expensive and long trip for people to make, and then they can't even go in to pray. How can that gain sympathy for their "this land is ours" cause? Not from me, thats for sure!

Joe Ben Avraham February 13, 2012 2:24 am (Pacific time)

Bonnie - how about responding to Mike's question about Islamic attacks on churches? I'm especially interested in the well documented cases of the attacks on Christians in Bagdad, and the attacks on the few remaining Christians in Gaza.
(Also, please print the name of the Israeli newspaper with the edited photo you mention in the article).

EDITOR: Joe Ben, that would be another article. Please pay close attention to Salem-News.com and you will surely see many articles that cover the subjects you hope for. Per the details on that photo, they have been added. Thanks for coming.

Bonnie, you nailed this one all the way, we applaud your article!

Anonymous February 12, 2012 12:59 pm (Pacific time)

Gee Bonnie, that could not be more clear or spot-on, the Israeli government is ten steps beyond rotten and we as a world are done with it, all respect to you sister.

Mike February 12, 2012 9:43 am (Pacific time)

Bonnie have you thought about an updated article on the hundreds of churches that have been invaded and burned down by Islamic extremists in the middle east and Africa? Compare and contrast the numbers vice versa. Just a cursory review could show you who the real terrorists are and those who support them even via ommission of writing about it. Good luck on your informing process.

Editor: What are you talking about Mike?  The 'real' terrorists are governments like Israel, Sri Lanka, and their supporters.... well that's you.  I mean you can scream the same stuff all day about being better than others or superior and it will never be true.  I think the answer is simple anyway, you just hate Arab people, you hate those who are different from you because like all racists, once again, in your neck of the woods..,., there are no high IQ's, just simpletons who can't get past the fear of their own shadow.  I also want to remind our readers that comments are something we offer, they aren't a 'right', however we have the right to refuse anything we want, and Mike, I will look forward to flushing your next comment.

NunShin February 12, 2012 3:34 am (Pacific time)

We will have The Temple, just as we regained Israel then Jerusalem so shall we rebuild The Temple in its proper spot. Eventually, if only by the increase of our numbers we will be the police. We the Right in Israel. The Right has more babies. We increase by over 50% every 20 years. In 10 years there will be no mosque on the mount. Jews want alll of Jerusalem and The Temple and The Temple Grounds are in Jerusalem. The police dont want to keep Jews away. Jews ARE Israel. The mosque shall fall very soon.  Thank G-D

Editor: That's pretty funny isn't it?  You are an actual terrorist aren't you?   And for the record, this guy's totally full of it,. Israel's residents are moving out in droves, they are bailing out and heading back to where they came from, Israel also takes in people from dangerous regions, terrorism is accepted in Israel, you just need to be a Zionist.  I think your name Nun 'none' is appropriate, it describes exactly how much kindness and intellect exist within you.
