(PORTLAND, OR) - We're inviting all our SUPER allies to the event DIVESTING FROM WALL STREET, INVESTING IN OUT COMMUNITIES: A Panel Discussion on Creating Social Justice Through Boycotts, Divestment, and Public Banking, which will be taking place on Tuesday, March 13th, at PSU in Room 333 of the Smith Memorial Student Union. We're looking for students and community members who are interesting in helping to plan, organize, and make a difference. We need as many allies as we can get in the struggle for justice in Palestine, the Middle East, and around the world—so join us!
Divesting from Wall Street, Investing in our Communities: A Panel
Students United for Palestinian Equal Rights, The Portland Central
Sami Alloy, an organizer with the Oregon Working Families Party will
discuss the campaign for an Oregon State Bank, what it would mean, and
what successful public banking models already exist in the United
States. Sami will also discuss the Oregon Banks Local campaign, a
statewide coalition that provides resources and solutions for
individuals who want to move their money away from Wall Street banks.
