Dayton Fire District Receives a Year Supply of Toilet Paper from Charmin

Charmin is donating nearly 50,000 rolls of toilet paper to firehouses in every state. Each firehouse will receive 960 rolls, which is a year supply of toilet paper for 20 firefighters.

(DAYTON) - Dayton, Oregon fire dist Today, as a part of the Charmin Relief Project, Charmin is donating 960 rolls, which is a year supply of toilet paper for 20 firemen, to the Dayton Fire District in Dayton, OR.

It is part of a nationwide donation to one fire house in every state – that’s nearly 50,000 rolls of toilet paper to 50 firehouses in 50 states.

Search Continues for Possible Drowning Victim Near Dayton

20-year old Anthony Jimenez of McMinnville remains missing

(MCMINNVILLE, OR) - Drowning investigation Family and friends in the Willamette Valley are praying for the recovery of one man still missing after a day at the river went awry.

Yamhill County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call for a missing person / possible drowning at 9000 Dorsey Rd. in Dayton on the Willamette River June 30, 2013 at about 5:21 p.m.

Yamhill County Sheriff Jack Crabtree says Anthony Jimenez of McMinnville, Kevin Judson of Dayton, and Derek Angel of McMinnville, attempted to swim across the Willamette River at the "Donkey ponds", but Derek Angel was the only one that made it.

Teen Girl Dies in Crash on Highway 18 Near Dayton

The girl's mother was flown by Lifeflight helicopter to Legacy Emanuel Hospital with critical injuries.

(DAYTON, Ore.) - Fatal crash on Highway 18: Police say a 13-year old Dayton-area girl died Tuesday evening when the van operated by her mother was struck by a truck while attempting to cross Highway 18 at SE Ash Street on the west end of Dayton.

Oregon State Police troopers are continuing the investigation into the crash that also critically injured her mother.

Plane Crashes on Willamette River Island South of Dayton

Oregon State Police say the man walked away from the crash uninjured, now he needs to figure out a way to get it off the island.

(DAYTON, Ore.) - Police say a 46-year old man was not injured Thursday afternoon when he attempted to land his small airplane on a Willamette River island and crashed about 7 miles south of Dayton. The man's name and photographs will be released later this evening.

Police Say Illegal Pass Caused Death of Motorcyclist

Crash happened on Highway 221 near Hopewell Road, north of Salem.

(DAYTON, Ore.) - Police say one person was killed and another seriously injured in a three-vehicle fatal traffic crash Tuesday evening on Highway 221 north of Salem. Troopers are still seeking contact with two occupants of a third vehicle who reportedly walked away from the scene before they could be identified.

Oregon State Police Sergeant Dale Young says that at approximately 7:07 PM, a green 1997 Ford Escort four-door driven by 50-year old September Marie Hawks of southeast Salem, was northbound on Highway 221 near milepost 12 when it attempted to pass a vehicle in a no passing zone.

Fatal Crash Sunday Near Dundee Leads to Arrest of Driver

Driver arrested over fatal traffic crash last weekend on Highway 99W south of Newberg.

(DUNDEE, Ore.) - 26-year old Leonel Zurita Loeza Police arrested the driver of a car involved in Sunday afternoon's fatal traffic crash that resulted in the death of a Dayton woman.

Carma Smith died when a vehicle driven by 26-year old Leonel Zurita Loeza crossed the center grass median on Highway 99W near Dundee, flew into the air and struck her car. Troopers arrested the man upon his release Monday afternoon from a Portland-area hospital.

Fatal Crash Kills One Near Dundee on Highway 99W

Motorists should avoid the area or expect delays. Highway 18 is open and has not been affected.

(DUNDEE, Ore.) - Oregon State Police are on the scene of a fatal traffic crash on Highway 99W near milepost 27. The area is about two miles north of Highway 18.

They advise that the highway is closed as a result of the crash. At this time the Oregon Department of Transportation is on the scene with a detour in place.

Two Stabbed in Bar Fight, Dayton Man Arrested

Both victims underwent surgery and were admitted to the hospital.

(DAYTON, Ore.) - Stabbing investigation art Two Yamhill County men are hospitalized following a fight at the Ferry Street Landing Tavern in Dayton where they are alleged to have been stabbed by a third man who was arrested later last night. Yamhill County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to the fight at 400 Ferry Street Wednesday evening at 9:36 PM.

The two victims, 52-year old Yasar Uzun of Newberg, and 45-year old Robert Danielson of McMinnville were transported via ambulance to the Willamette Valley Medical Center in McMinnville.

Driver in September Crash Dies from Injuries

Oregon State Police troopers from the McMinnville Area Command are continuing the investigation with the assistance of an OSP collision re-constructionist.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Crash near Dayton, Oregon 9-20-07 The driver of a van that collided with the back of a farm tractor September 20th on Highway 221 near Dayton reportedly died Sunday from her injuries. The farm tractor's operator received non-life threatening injuries at the time.
