The Oregon Legislature gave each city the chance to legally opt out of recreational marijuana sales

The big event starts Saturday at 11 am and will go through 11 pm, centered in Riverfront Park’s "Hot Boxin" Amphitheater. There will be 25 Bands/DJ's, multiple speakers, vendors, a beer garden, and food booths. Admission is free and it is open to all ages.

Oregon Economists Say Marijuana Revenues Could Bring in $40 Million a Year

Under the “Control, Regulation, and Taxation of Marijuana and Industrial Hemp Act,” 40 percent of the tax revenue collected would go to schools.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon Marijuana If Oregon voters decide to legalize, regulate and tax marijuana, the state estimates that it will take in up to $40 million a year, much more than originally estimated.

The state’s impact statement doesn’t estimate law enforcement and judicial savings from a decrease in marijuana cases.

Salem Man One of Four Charged in NW Marijuana Related Stocks Scheme

In May, the SEC warned investors about possible scams involving marijuana-related investments, saying fraudsters often try to exploit new growth industries by manipulating stocks.

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - Marijuana Stock Busts The Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday charged four promoters with ties to the Pacific Northwest for manipulating the securities of several microcap companies, including marijuana-related stocks that the agency has warned investors about in recent weeks.

The SEC alleges that the four promoters bought inexpensive shares of thinly traded penny stock companies on the open market and conducted pre-arranged, manipulative matched orders and wash trades to create the illusion of an active market in these stocks.
