Gordon Duff Salem-News.com
Christmas bombing audio tape is the lamest yet; you were caught, admit it and move on with life.
(CINCINNATI) -
The new audio tape from “Osama bin Laden” taking responsibility for the idiotic and childish incident in Detroit where a moronic Nigerian armed with a useless “bomb” is simply too much.
Now using audio tapes because, supposedly, nobody in Al Qaeda got a flash drive video for Christmas is even more of a joke.

America's real military tradition.
(CINCINNATI) -
Lying about the Vietnam War is a way of life. When some of those who “served” in Vietnam became old enough to gain power, hiding much of the truth of the war was critical to keep questions down. Everything bad in Vietnam was blamed on minorities, “bad eggs” and draftees.

VA Medical Mistreatment: Gross Betrayal of Veterans Nobody is Responsible
Dr. Phil Leveque Salem-News.com
The VA doctors have a proclivity for prescribing powerful, adverse-side effect drugs. Oxycontin is the worst example

Tim King Salem-News.com
One reporter's thoughts on a huge national endeavor to turn the war around.
(SALEM, Ore.) -
When it comes to the idea of a military "surge" in Afghanistan, the first thing Americans need to wrap their minds around, is the natural tendency of people to have patriotic and even nationalistic motivations. This should come as no surprise to Americans, it doesn't matter where you were born, it only matters that you were born.

Every decade, every year, and every day this should be the light that guides us as we strive to craft our more perfect union.
(EUGENE, Ore.) -
If you have read any of the many op-ed reflections on the first decade of the new millennium, the reviews are less than positive. The arm chair commentators are not necessarily wrong.
