Man Dies Tragically After Becoming Disoriented

Mr. Burwick spent 25 years in the Navy and an additional 11 years with the City of Salem as a Parking Enforcement Official, he retired in 1980.

(SALEM) - George Burwick On Wednesday the 4th the Marion County Sheriff's Office responded to what appeared to be a motor vehicle crash in the 5600 block of Center Street NE. Tragically this was not the case.

Man Shot After Being Pulled Over by Detective in Unmarked Police Car

"After a male subject quickly exited, he was shot and injured by the Salem Police detective..."

(ALBANY OR) - Police shooting Oregon State Police say a Salem Police detective driving an unmarked car shot a man on a public freeway Thursday night. It happened when the detective decided to pull a truck over for speeding and reckless driving on Interstate 5 near Halsey in Linn County.

(SALEM) - Healthy eating at an older age All of us have eaten countless meals in order to survive to becoming senior citizens. The lure of delicious food has satisfied our taste buds over the years. However, we must adjust to changing times.

Just as our vision often gets dimmer and our capacity for hearing decreases with age, our tongues also get older with wear and tear. It is normal to retreat to the memories of an earlier era. The reality is that we older folks simply do not register taste as we used to. Our taste buds are not quite as sharp.

Salem Police Officers Stop Subject From Jumping Off of Downtown Rooftop

Officers Smith and Demarco quickly ran and grabbed the subject by his pant cuff.

(SALEM) - Police car Salem Police Officers physically caught a Salem man as he jumped off the ledge of a rooftop in downtown Salem on the afternoon of November 20.

Police were dispatched to the downtown area at 2:59 pm when a subject called to say that a suicide was going to happen at the tallest building in Salem.

Salem Police Investigate Fatal Accident

The driver of the motor vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

(SALEM) - Fatal pedestrial vs car in West Salem, Oregon 11=20-2013 Salem Police responded to a report of a serious motor vehicle collision involving a single vehicle striking two pedestrians in the 1900 block of Edgewater St NW last night at approximately at 9:00 p.m.

When officers arrived, one of the pedestrians was deceased at the scene. The other pedestrian was transported to Salem Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Oregon Capitol Watch Foundation’s Executive Director and former State Representative Jeff Kropf announces the IRS’s granting of their 501C3 tax exempt status after suing the IRS for their alleged unfair and unconstitutional targeting of the Foundation’s application.

“It sure looks like the IRS granted our tax exempt status in response to our joining the ACLJ lawsuit because they communicated the approval of our application through the ACLJ and not our corporate lawyer or me as the Executive Director” said Kropf.

Man Injured in North Salem Drive-by Shooting

The victim's home was struck several times, but the exact number of shots or type(s) of guns used is not known at this time.

(SALEM) - Bikes at scene of drive-by shooting in Salem Marion County Deputies were called to the 4000 block of Santiam Street NE in Salem at 10:44pm, Monday, on the report of several shots being fired.

Two Marion County units arrived in the area within 10 minutes. Their preliminary investigation revealed that the incident was an apparent drive-by shooting at a specific address.
