Shine a Light on Lung Cancer

Nobody can breathe easy while the disease of lung cancer continues to strike our fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, neighbors and friends.

(SALEM) - Lung cancer I am writing you today to inform you of this wonderful event we have created, progress we are making locally, after my mother-in-law passed away from a terrible disease.

She was 50 years old and two weeks away from meeting her first grandson when she passed. She was overlooked by her doctor for months before they finally found her cancer. I ask that you please read my letter and help spread the information.

Age Segregation Spurs Ugly Family Divide

Learning is either a two-way street or a dead-end run. We can drive that engine!

(SALEM) - Age discrimination Why are we perpetrating putting the generations into tiny little compartments? We seem to be shortsighted in the long run, making a mockery of family connections.

I grant you that this writer is from the 1950's generation of Ozzie and Harriet in which grandparents and grandchildren live in the same area. My own childhood was spent in Brooklyn during and after WW II. Living with grandparents and a single aunt as well as a teen uncle made life mighty interesting.

Fatal Three-Vehicle Crash in Salem

Police released limited information about those involved in the crash.

(SALEM, Ore.) - The Marion County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal, three vehicle crash in the 5700 block of Silverton Road NE. Five of the six occupants involved in the crash have been transported to local hospitals with varying degrees of injury. The Sheriff's Office can confirm that one occupant involved in the crash is deceased.

Silverton Road is closed between Lardon Road NE and 64th Avenue NE while the Marion County Sheriff's Office CRASH Team conducts a forensic investigation of the crash scene. If traveling between Silverton and Salem drivers are urged to use other roadways to prevent congestion.

Salem Tattoo Mall Invites Community to Tour Facility at Noon Sunday

The victim of the Saturday morning shooting at the Londonaire Apartments, 955 Concord St NE, died Saturday evening at Salem Hospital

(SALEM, Ore.) - Shooting investigation The victim of the Saturday morning shooting at the Londonaire Apartments, 955 Concord St NE, died Saturday evening at Salem Hospital.

He has been identified as 23 year old Charlie Rivera of Woodburn. Next of kin have been identified. An autopsy is planned for Monday morning.
