Marion County Inmate Hospitalized After Assault

Officials at this point are withholding the names of the inmates, and they will not elaborate at this time as to where the victim was stabbed.

(SALEM) - Marion County Jail in Salem One inmate is hospitalized and another is being questioned following an assault that took place in the Marion County Jail yesterday afternoon.

Marion County detectives say they are continuing their investigation into the assault which occurred at about 2:00 p.m. The victim inmate was transported by helicopter to the Oregon Health and Science University Hospital in Portland.

(SALEM) - State Hospital in Salem, Oregon Joe Pantoliano interviews Dr. Dean Brooks, the former Superintendent of the Oregon State Hospital from 1955 to 1981. Brooks participated in the film "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" when the producers cast him as Dr. Spivey and shot the film at the hospital in Salem, Oregon during the mid-1970's.

Brooks talks about how he started in psychiatry, became involved with the film, and what he learned about acting from Jack Nicholson.

Jerusha Lee had teamed-up with Grammy-award winning musicians in Los Angeles to record "Mechanic's Daughter" inspired by her father.

22 Year Old Man Cited for Touching Children

Police want to remind the public to always report any suspicious persons and/or activities to law enforcement immediately.

(SALEM OR) - Samuel H Gardiner Salem Police Detectives have issued a criminal citation to a 22-year old Salem man for allegedly approaching children and attempting to touch them for sexual reasons.

Samuel H Gardiner was interviewed by detectives and issued a citation for Attempted Harassment.

Legislature Approves Bill that Confirms Oregon is Weaning Itself From Coal Power

SB 242 restates the language applying the standard to out-of-state power...

(SALEM) - Oregon Capitol The Oregon House today passed a bill that confirms a 2009 policy reducing the amount of coal in Oregon’s power supply. SB 242 was approved by a vote of 44-15.

“We are gratified that legislators reaffirmed Oregon’s emissions performance standard,” said CUB Executive Director Bob Jenks.

Tow Company Offers Reward After Their Driver is Injured in Hit and Run

$1000 Reward has been offered for the "Arrest and Conviction" of the responsible party.

(SALEM) - move over law There was a Hit & Run accident on Mission Street Sunday evening, where a tow truck driver who was loading a vehicle to be towed was struck by a passing vehicle, which then fled the area.

The driver for Affordable Towing, was wearing his orange safety vest and had all emergency lights activated when the accident occurred.

Teen Driver `Impaled` in Crash, Will Survive

The vehicle was occupied by four 16-year old occupants, all Sprague High School students.

(SALEM) - Crash in Salem, Oregon 5-1-13 Officers from the Salem Police Department responded to a serious motor vehicle crash on Ballyntine Rd S. south of Kuebler Blvd. S. at t 3:25 p.m.

When they arrived, they found a 1996 Nissan 4-door sedan had left the roadway and had collided with approximately 300 feet of cyclone fencing.

Salem Woman Arrested In Connection With Weekend Robberies

Three Salem convenience stores were robbed Sunday morning between 5:40 AM and 6:50 AM.

(SALEM) - 48-year old Robin Templeton Salem Police stopped a van Monday which they say was used in an early Saturday morning string of robberies.

The driver, Robin Templeton, was arrested on two counts of Robbery II. Police are still seeking a second woman, 24 year old Roberta Hudson.
