Oxford Doctoral Student Rebecca Stienfeld co-authored an op-ed in the Guardian (UK) exploring the rationales for a ban on circumcision. Stienfeld is a Jewish scholar with an interest focused on reproductive politics in Israel, who has served as a leader in the Jewish community in England. She has served as an Under-35 leader to the Board of Deputies in the UK’s Jewish community.

If passed, article 50 will ban genital cutting for boys in San Francisco, with profound religious implications for Jews and Muslims. But isn't it time to oppose all circumcision?
San Francisco voters will decide later this year whether, like its female counterpart, male infant circumcision should be outlawed.

Mr. Sathiyaseelan Jegadishan (24) of Sogana Upper Division, Pussellawa in the Nuwara Eliya District was illegally arrested and later tortured by officers of the Pussellawa Police Station on 2 June 2010.
His arrest is a violation of Sri Lanka Act number 22 of 1994 - the law adopted by the Sri Lankan parliament making torture a crime that can be punishable for minimum seven years and not less than ten years on being proven guilty.

Israeli war planes have attacked the Gaza Strip, bombing several parts in Khan Yunis and the tunnel network in Rafah in the south of the enclave.
(GAZA CITY Press TV) -
Israeli jets flew over Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip on Saturday, a Press TV correspondent in Gaza reported.
The second blitz, which struck Rafah, targeted the Palestinians' underground tunnels leading to Egypt and left one person injured.
