Orlando Shooter Leaves One Dead and Several Injured (VIDEO)

A second serious shooting in as many days.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Orlando Police Chief Chief Val Demings Orlando, Florida Police arrested a man in a shooting that left several people hurt and one person dead. The shooting arrives on the heels of yesterday's tragic shooting at Fort Hood that has claimed the lives of 13 people.

Chief Val Demings of Orlando's police department, said the suspect began shooting at the Reynolds Smith & Hill firm, reported to be the shooter's former employee.

After three months of renovations, Cinebarre executives cut the ribbon November 5 at the old Regal Movieland location, in the heart of Salem, on High and Marion Streets.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Cinebarre in Salem, Oregon Cinebarre, the latest venue to open in Salem, promises to entertain the 18-and over crowd with the latest hit movies and a full restaurant menu, including beer and wine.

The grand opening tonight will feature A Christmas Carol, The Box and The Fourth Kind, among other new releases. Although most showings will be of first-run films, Cinebarre's special events include important sports games, Oscar parties, and sometimes classics.

22 Years of Holding the Line for the Kids at Oregon's School for the Deaf.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon School for the Deaf's annual Nightmare Factory Halloween is overflowing the Oregon School for the Deaf with tricks and treats this weekend.

The $8, 20-minute horror walk is not just worth the fun but it helps a struggling school raise funds for students of Oregon’s Sign language immersion boarding school, who make up 90% of the actors.

Thank You Taps Players

My goal today was to share this piece with you and say thanks to all the Taps players out there at the same time.

(PORTLAND, Ore) - camera man For many years, I've thought I have made up a tune that I thought existed out there somewhere. I had heard it on one of my many overseas excursions, back in the day when I traveled light.

The tune is like an extended full version of Taps and the title is Il Silenzio, which is Italian. I stumbled across it searching for something else and I listened, and I cried. It brought back memories I didn't know I had.

Surfers looking for the biggest waves in the world, find them in Oregon and Ireland.

(AILEENS, Ireland) - Big wave surfing Al Mennie and Andrew Cotton have just managed to surf three giant swells in two oceans all within a one week period.

The duo racked up over 8,000 miles last week in order to surf two swells at Aileens, Ireland and compete at the Nelscott Tow-In Classic, Oregon.

Ewa Jasiewicz was a witness to the horrors in Gaza before and after Israel's brutal massacres in December and January during Israel's Operation Cast Lead. This event led to the deaths of more than 1,400 people in Gaza, among them several hundred children.

The video below from Ewa's eloquent speech in Berlin, Germany, features video and still images taken by volunteers in Gaza during Israel's overwhelming military assault on the civilians here who Israel says were shielding members of the political group Hamas, which Israel and the U.S. have branded as a terrorist organization.

The men plan to cover roughly 600 more miles, passing through one more state, reaching San Francisco by the beginning of November.

The forecast calls for huge waves at the Nelscott Reef Tow In Classic.

(LINCOLN CITY, Ore.) - Nelscott Classic surf contest Organizers say the 2009 Nelscott Reef Tow In Classic and Big Wave Paddle In surf contest has a green light, and will be held Thursday, 22 October.

The event draws some of the biggest names in surfing to Lincoln City, to ride one of the largest reef waves in the world.
