Stubborn Storm in the West Could Bring Snow to SF and LA (VIDEO)

More cold for Oregon and the rest of the west coast.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Accuweather.com weather map Weather forecasters say cold air and a stubborn storm will linger across the West through much of the week, resulting in rain, snow, and below-normal temperatures.

Arctic air continues to grip the Intermountain West and the Pacific Northwest. On Monday, Seattle, Washington broke its daily low temperature record with a reading of 26 degrees, three degrees colder than the previous mark set in 1991.

Coming Days Will be Cold But Little Snow Until Thursday (VIDEO)

Martin Luther King Jr. Day will be mostly sunny with highs only reaching 30 to 35 degrees and a northeast wind is expected in the 15 to 25 mph range.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Accuweather.com weather map Forecasters call for mostly cloudy conditions as we approach the Martin Luther King Holiday Monday. Conditions will grow clear and cold into the night with a chance of sprinkles and flurries in the evening.

The snow level will drop to 1000 feet but no snow accumulation is expected. Lows are expected to be 20 to 25 degrees with a north wind blowing 5 to 10 mph.

A frigid air mass this weekend could reach coastal areas of the Northwest, producing the lowest temperatures so far this winter.

(SALEM, Ore) - Weather forecasters report that the Pacific Northwest will enjoy a break from the constant parade of storms the next couple of days, while southern California residents brace for a strong Santa Ana wind event Wednesday into Thursday.

Gusty winds across the northern Rockies are the result of the clash of high pressure off the Pacific coast and a low over Canada's Prairies. Rain and mountain snow fell Monday night in Washington and northern Oregon. Through tonight, heavy snow will shift southward through the northern and central Rockies.

Possible Santa Ana Wind event next week is predicted by forecasters.

(SALEM ,Ore.) - Accuweather.com weather map Weather forecasters say another Pacific storm moving into the Northwest today will spread rain across the lower elevations and snow in the mountains above 3,000 feet. The storm track over the next few days will push to the north, sending new Pacific storms toward western Canada.

A steady rain today will fall along the coasts of Washington and Oregon as the low pressure area moves into southern British Columbia. Some areas of the Cascades could get another foot of snow on top of the record-breaking snow that has fallen over the past week. High pressure building into the Northwest this weekend will create an offshore flow in Southern California.
