Hundreds Arrested in Pakistan Crackdown (VIDEO)

Private television channel broadcasts remained blocked in most of Pakistan. Reports indicate that Pakistan's reception of the BBC, CNN and other international agencies is also jammed.

(ISLAMABAD, Pakistan) - Pakistan unrest It has been confirmed by the Prime Minister of Pakistan that as many as 500 people were arrested across the country this weekend. It is part of a crackdown that started after a state of emergency was declared by the President.

The dismissal of judges and the suspension of the country's constitution by Pervez Musharraf is driving the nation to a point where something or someone is going to give.

Military Funeral Protesting Church Will Pay Almost $11 Million in Lawsuit (VIDEO)

The case should bankrupt the church as it far exceeds their assets.

(SALEM, Ore.) - The Westboro Baptist Church at a protest in Hood River, Oregon It couldn't happen to a more deserving group of people. The Westboro Baptist Church was nailed in court on Halloween day to the tune of $10.9 Million. That is how much a jury believes these Kansas creeps owe a Pennsylvania father who had to put up with their harassment as he laid his son who was killed in the Iraq War to rest.

Most people have heard of the Westboro Church by now. They picket military funerals in this country with signs that read, "That God for Dead Soldiers." Their point, allegedly, is that soldiers are dying overseas because the United States condones homosexuality.

Long Days for Firefighters in California (VIDEO)

California Conservation Corps fire crews have been battling the fires since Sunday.

(SAN DIEGO) - Napa Valley Strike Team working in Hasley Canyon Wildland firefighters have accomplished a great deal in recent days, getting a grip on most of the offshore wind driven fires that raged through several Southern California counties.

Three of the significant fires still burning are in San Diego County. The Harris Fire is 90 percent contained. The Witch Fire is 97 percent contained, and the Poomacha Fire is 70 percent contained.

Wind Change Could Harm California Fire Progress (VIDEO)

Approximately 8,000 firefighters are on scene, at least 1,644 homes have been destroyed, the fires have seared just under 650 square miles.

(SAN DIEGO) - Fire in California Hot dry Santa Ana winds have driven the Southern California wildfires across the state scoring tens of thousands of acres, over a thousand homes have burned to the ground.

But some firefighters say the last thing they need is for the winds to turn around and start blowing the other way. One firefighter told Salem-News.com, "The fire could just come right back on us, taking paths that didn't already burn."

Fight Against Deadly California Fires is Progressing (VIDEO)

Fifteen fires are actively burning, while five have been contained.

(SAN DIEGO) - Malibu Canyon Fire While Santa Ana winds are expected to continue in Southern California, the National Weather Service says the weather system is weakening gradually, but conditions will remain somewhat dry and windy.

The offshore winds will continue at 20-30 mph and continue through much of today, with a brief respite later this afternoon before increasing again.

This is an update on the progress of efforts to suppress the wildfires that are burning out of control in Southern California.

(LOS ANGELES) - Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was briefed and held a Press Conference on the Canyon Fire and other Los Angeles area fires Fire safety experts in California say as many as 500,000 residents will have to evacuate before a series of gust-driven fire complete their devastating path across the state.

The situation remains critical, fire officials say the 12 uncontained large fires have burned more than 335,000 acres.

Gov. Schwarzenegger Requests President to Declare a State of Emergency for California Due to Southern California Wildfires.

(LOS ANGELES) - Map of California Fire officials say the wildfires burning in Southern California may burn all the way from the mountains to the ocean before it is over. Images of the Malibu Colony on television earlier with flames in the background were a clear indication that this is a fire possibly worse than anything in California's history.

Videotape Catches Graffiti Tagger in the Act

Beaverton Police hope somebody identifies the suspect from the tape.

(BEAVERTON, Ore.) - Tagger suspect in Beaverton, Oregon 10-22-97 The Beaverton Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying a suspect they describe as a tagger who has vandalized a Verizon electrical box and at least one vehicle in the Beaverton area.

The suspect was videotaped vandalizing an electrical box on October 15th in the 5500 block of SW Alger Street. Police say the suspect used a red Sharpie marker to write "XIV" on conduit pipe and on the top and side of an electrical box.
