Man Dies in Fatal Crash Near Bandon

Police say approximately ten minutes before the crash, the vehicle was spotted driving erratically.

(BANDON, Ore.) - Photo of fatal crash near Bandon 12-30-09 A Langlois-area man died Wednesday morning in a single vehicle traffic crash on Highway 101 south of Bandon.

A preliminary investigation by Oregon State Police indicates alcohol is a possible contributing factor and the victim was not using safety restraints.

Escaped Work Center Inmate Arrested by Police

Reports have been submitted to the Marion County District Attorney's Office and they will determine if Escape charges will be filed against Morganstern.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Derik Morganstern A jail inmate who fled from a Marion County work crew was located and arrested Tuesday, according to Lt. Sheila Lorance with the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

She says arrested Derik Morganstern around 2:40 p.m. after they received a call indicating he was seen walking on Lancaster Drive NE.

Eight U.S. Civilians Killed in Afghanistan`s Khost Province

Those killed were reportedly working for the CIA.

(KHOST PROVINCE, Afghanistan) - Khost Province Afghanistan Eight American civilians have been killed in a suicide attack on a military base in Afghanistan's southeastern Khost province, US officials say.

No US or Nato troops were injured in Wednesday's blast at Forward Operating Base Chapman, a US defence official who declined to be named said.

Corrections Deputy Pleads Guilty to Illegal Possession of a Stun Device

The case could end with termination of the employee.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Multnomah County Sheriff`s logo Sheriff Daniel Staton and Chief Deputy Carol Hasler received notice today that a Correction Deputy named Steven Douglas Cowles, pled guilty to illegal possession of a Stun Device.

The Multnomah County Sheriff's Internal Investigation primary assessment will begin Monday January 4. 2010, according to Lt. Mary Lindstrand, Public Information Officer with the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office.

Security forces have sworn that they will not let the marchers enter Gaza.

(CAIRO, Egypt) - Egyptian police in riot gear Lines of black-clad Egyptian riot police descended upon hundreds of French activists lining up in front of a rank of riot barriers separating the street and the sidewalk in front of the French Embassy in Cairo, locking the French activists into place.

Dozens of police troop carriers lined the far side of the boulevard. Red water cannons sat behind them - palpably menacing. The French activists are part of the European Palestine solidarity group, EuroPalestine. They number about 300.

The war crimes committed by Israel during this attack are horrific and the damage they inflicted will last decades in terms of human loss and scars, and also environmental damage wrought by the radioactivity in Israel's U.S. supplied bombs.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Baby For many years I wondered about this Biblical/archaic procedure. I was intact when my older brother had it done when he was in the Navy along with a hernia repair.

I think my younger brother had it done as a standard operating procedure (SOP). I really didn't get close to it myself until my medical internship.
