Deputies Locate Disabled Woman (UPDATE)

The Missing Woman, Sparkle Green, has returned home safely and unharmed.

(BEAVERTON, Ore.) - Washington County Sheriff's deputies are asking for the public's help in locating a missing developmentally disabled woman from the community of Aloha.

26-year old Sparkle Thira Green left her adult foster care home last Tuesday, September 22nd, and went to her mother's house in NE Portland. She has not been seen or heard from since.

Sparkle Green left her adult foster care home earlier this week and has not returned. She was last seen in Portland and may be downtown, according to Sgt. David Thompson with the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

Road Construction Worker Killed in Beaverton (UPDATE)

Police say the victim was killed on the job by a dumptruck.

(BEAVERTON, Ore.) - 51-year old John Thomas Sparks, a road construction worker, was killed this afternoon in a work-related accident on SW 173rd near SW Walker Road in Beaverton at 3:47 p.m.

"Officers arrived to learn that a road construction worker was killed when one of the dump trucks involved in the repaving backed over him. The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene."

Coast Guardsman Honored for Saving Marines During WWII (PHOTOS)

Douglas Munro took heroic actions by putting himself in between 500 Marines and an advancing Japanese force, for his actions he became the only Coast Guardsmen to receive the Medal of Honor.

(SEATTLE) - The Coast Guard Enlisted Association Emerald City branch held a memorial service for the only Coast Guard Medal of Honor recipient in Cle Elum, Washington, Friday.

Members of Coast Guard Station Seattle, Aids to Navigation Team Puget Sound, Integrated Support Command Seattle, and the 13th Coast Guard District staff along with the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1373, Cle Elum, gathered at the grave site of Signalmen 1st Class Douglas Munro today to mark the 67th anniversary of Munro's ultimate sacrifice.

Gov. Schwarzenegger Signs `Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans` Day Bill

Schwarzenegger earlier had refused to sign the legislation.

(SACRAMENTO, Calif.) - Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger joined Assemblymember Paul Cook (R-Yucca Valley) Friday at the Twentynine Palms Marine Base to sign AB 717 which establishes an annual "Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day" on March 30th.

"Our Vietnam veterans fought for our freedoms, kept America safe and dedicated their lives to this nation," said Governor Schwarzenegger. "We are forever thankful for their unwavering strength and courage while fighting in the Vietnam War. By signing this legislation we join together to express our gratitude, remember their service and say ‘welcome home.'"

TVF&R Responds to Fatal Fire in Beaverton (PHOTOS)

The victim has not been identified. A Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue investigator is working to determine the cause of the fire.

(BEAVERTON, Ore.) - Firefighters from Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue aggressively attacked a mobile home fire in Beaverton that was threatening to spread to surrounding structures early this morning. Although firefighters were able to knock the fire down quickly, firefighters discovered one person inside the home who was deceased.

Firefighters were called to the Mobile Home Corral at 3737 SW 117th Avenue in Beaverton at 3:45 this morning. The first arriving engine found a mobile home fully involved in flames.
