Governor`s Office Proclaims Oregon Farmers` Market Week

Governor Ted Kulongoski has declared August 2nd through 9th to be Oregon Farmers' Market Week.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Farmers Market in Oregon There are currently over a 100 farmers' markets operating in Oregon with 90 of these markets as members of the Oregon Farmers' Markets Association (OFMA).

Suspect at Large in Salem Pizza Parlor Armed Robbery

The victim, a Dominos employee, indicated a black male entered the store, displayed a small black semi-automatic handgun and demanded money.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Armed Robbery investigation Marion County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a report of an Armed Robbery at Dominos Pizza at 411 Lancaster Drive NE this morning.

Lt. Sheila Lorance with the Marion County Sheriff's Office, says deputies responding to the 10:00 a.m. call arrived after the suspect had left the area. A K-9 track was started, however it ended a short distance from the location.

(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - Rafts in Clackamas River inciden during which husband saved wife`s life 7-27-09 Tragedy was averted Sunday by the persistent and heroic efforts of a husband who dislodged his submerged wife from the ominous grip of the Clackamas River, and revived her lifeless body by administering life-saving CPR.

The Clackamas County Dispatch received a report Sunday of a female subject that was initially submerged in the water, retrieved from the water and then revived.

City of Salem Issues Stage-Two Water Alert

‏Citzens are asked to voluntarily reduce water consumption.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Water drops City of Salem Public Works Director Peter Fernandez has issued a Stage-Two alert and curtailment actions for the municipal water system.

A Stage-two alert means that a water shortage exists and that customers are asked to voluntarily restrict all lawn watering and other non-essential uses of water as specified below:

Hallie Ford Museum of Art Features Vietnam War Photo Exhibition

It is the first Pacific Northwest appearance for this international touring exhibition.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Requiem: By the Photographers Who Died in Vietnam and Indochina will go on display August 15th at the Hallie Ford Museum of Art at Willamette University.

Requiem honors the 135 photographers who died in Vietnam between 1945 and 1975, including Robert Capa, Larry Burrows and Henri Huet.

KWVT in Salem Drops Analog Signal Sunday: Goes All Digital

The station is now all digital.

(SALEM, Ore.) - KWVT, Salem's only local broadcast station which has been broadcasting on digital channel 17.1 for some time, ceases broadcasting its ANALOG channel Sunday July 26th.

The 213,000 house that KWVT serves will still be able to enjoy all the local and national programming on channel 17.1. In addition to KSLM-TV channel 17.2 with its "retro TV". THIS ONLY AFFECTS THE ANALOG CHANNEL.

Remains of Human Hand Found Near Elgin, Oregon

The Union County Major Crimes Team is investigating to try and determine the manner and cause of death.

(ELGIN, Ore.) - Human Remains Recovered Officials say a human hand was discovered Saturday on Boise Cascade property near Elgin, Oregon.

The Union County Medical Examiner has confirmed that the recovered body part was a human hand, but there might not be enough to establish an identity.
