NORML Fights Changes to Oregon Medical Marijuana Laws (VIDEO)

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Madeline Martinez from Oregon NORML, says the advocacy group and others stand together in appealing to Oregon legislators to kill Senate Bill 388-9.

This is legislation that would greatly modify the Oregon Medical Marijuana Program which Martinez agrees needs clarity, but she says these changes would strip Oregon medical marijuana patients of important rights.

Salem Comes Together to Raise $95,000 for Babies

March of Dimes is the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health.

(SALEM, Ore.) - 103 year-old Jim Lindquist was the oldest walker It was the best feel-good moment of the week in Salem when hundreds of residents joined together in support of the smallest members of Salem —babies—by participating in March for Babies to benefit March of Dimes.

"Thanks to everyone who came out in support of babies. Together we've raised $95,000 so that one day all babies will be born healthy," said Greg Goodwin, CEO of Kuni Automotive and 2009 March for Babies Chair.

Prineville Man Arrested Over August 2008 Fatal Traffic Crash north of Madras

The man was lodged at the Crook County Jail with a bail at $250,000.

(PRINEVILLE, Ore.) - 45-year old Todd A. Rhoden A Prineville man was arrested on charges relating to an August 2008 fatal traffic crash that happened north of Madras, resulting in the death of a Clackamas-area woman and injuries to six others.

Police say the arrest of 45-year old Todd A. Rhoden, follows an investigation and Grand Jury review into the August 17th 2008 fatal traffic crash on Highway 26 north of Madras.

Man Arrested for Shooting at Motorists & Attempted Car Theft

Police say the man crashed, shot at cars, tried to steal one on the freeway, and then from a car dealership where he was arrested.

(ROSEBURG, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Police say a Myrtle Creek-area man was arrested Saturday following a series of events starting with a single vehicle crash on Interstate 5 north of Myrtle Creek, shots fired at passing vehicles, and then an attempt to take a car from an auto dealership in Roseburg. There were no injuries.

Oregon State Police Sergeant Bill Fugate says Saturday at approximately 10:00 a.m., 32-year old Gregory Scott Vandenbos of Myrtle Creek, was involved in a non-injury single vehicle crash northbound Interstate 5 near milepost 111.

Two Die in Crash on Highway 26 West of Sandy (PHOTOS)

An Eagle Creek Woman and her daughter died as a result of the crash.

(SANDY, Ore.) - Fatal Crash Investigation Oregon State Police troopers and Clackamas County interagency crash investigation team, are investigating a fatal crash that happened Saturday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 26 and the east end of SE Orient Drive.

State troopers say the Saturday afternoon two-vehicle traffic crash resulted in the death of an Eagle Creek mother and her daughter, and non-life threatening injuries to a third person.

(CULVER, Ore.) - Fatal crash investigation Oregon State Police are investigating a single vehicle traffic crash on Highway 361 north of Culver, that turned deadly after the injured person was transported to the hospital.

Emergency responders report being notified of a single vehicle crash off Highway 361 near milepost 6, that reportedly happened at approximately 6:38 p.m. Saturday evening.
