Pittsburgh Steels 2009 Superbowl

The longest run in history at a Superbowl of 100 yards was accomplished by Steelers linebacker James Harrison today.

(TAMPA BAY) - Steelers logo Pittsburg started Superbowl XLIII strong and consistent, with the Cardinals gaining steam in the second quarter. Both teams were on but in the end Arizona was no match for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The final score was 27 to 23.

The longest run in history at a Superbowl of over 100 yards was accomplished by linebacker James Harrison today, as he ran an interception all the way from one end of the field to the other, scoring a touchdown that brought the Steelers to 17-7 in the first half of the game.

He, in fact, wrote a book called The Return of Depression Economics -- now revised and reprinted as The Return of Depression Economics and the Crisis of 2008, but he didn't expect it to become reality. Nobody did.

Two Die as Truck Carrying Six Slams Into Semi

Police say the driver of a commercial truck in a ditch and blocking the road, tried in vain to warn the approaching vehicle.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Photo od crash scene Oregon State Police troopers are investigating a Friday morning fatal traffic crash that took the lives of two people on Highway 99E about three miles north of Salem.

The two Hispanic male victims have not been positively identified. Names of the others involved in this crash are being released.

OSP Sergeant Dale Young says Friday at approximately 6:02 a.m., a report was received of a commercial truck in a ditch blocking Highway 99E near Barbara Avenue NE north of Salem.

Poor Road Conditions Cause Multiple Crashes in Marion County

Deputies warn of hazardous road conditions.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Crash investigation The Sheriff's Office has responded to 7 traffic crashes throughout Marion County in the past two days where icy roads and adverse weather conditions have been a contributing factor, Lt. Sheila Lorance reports.

According to Marion County's Emergency Manager, there was a dense fog advisory for the Willamette Valley until noon today.

Winter Rod & Speed Show This Weekend in Albany

It happens at the Linn County Expo Center near the Airport in Albany, Saturday January 31st from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

(ALBANY, Ore.) - Hot rod at a previous Salem area show. Ever go to a hot rod show? If the answer is yes, then I don't need to explain how awesome it is to see a whole bunch of cool cars gathered for a single event.

The best thing about this weekend's show in Albany is that it is held indoors, so rain or shine it is guaranteed to be a fantastic event.

The cars lined up for the show include muscle cars, street rods and trucks, custom motorcycles and race cars.

California Nurses Criticize SEIU Trusteeship

California Nurses Association/National Nurses Organizing Committee Cites Concerns for Erosion of RN and Patient Care Standards.

(SACRAMENTO) - A gathering of hundreds of California nurses in Oakland last July. Citing concerns about erosion of RN and patient care standards, the California Nurses Association/National Nurses Organizing Committee today criticized the action by the Service Employees International Union to take over its largest California affiliate, United Healthcare Workers-West.

In a statement today, Rose Ann DeMoro, executive director of CNA/NNOC, which represents registered nurses in most of the hospitals where UHW represents ancillary staff, noted "the appalling track record of SEIU International in signing substandard agreements with employers in exchange for additional dues payments is a major cause for alarm in a state that has set the national standard in hospital patient care conditions and RN standards."

Senate Democrats Pass `Unprecedented` Oregon Jobs Stimulus Plan

The intent of SB 338 is to provide jobs for Oregonians across the state while investing in state infrastructure.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon State Capitol "In an unprecedented and swift sign of action, the Oregon Senate Democrats voted to approve a bonding package that will provide thousands of jobs to workers across the state," Oregon's Senate Majority Office reports.

Senate Bill 338 provides over $175 million for deferred maintenance and capital construction authority through bond sales scheduled to take place in the next two months.

These projects will create immediate employment opportunities for Oregonians in all 36 counties.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that Jessica Marie Arce has been located in the State of Iowa.

(SALEM, Ore.) - 31-year old Jessica Marie Arce 31-year old Jessica Arce is safe; police say she traveled to Iowa on her own, however, it is unknown at this time why she didn't make contact with her family or let anyone know where she was going.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office would like to thank those people who helped look for Jessica as well as the calls that came in from concerned citizens.
