Questionnaire for Security Clearances Revised

The federal government implements a change that will bring relief to combat veterans who seek help.

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - Salem-News.com Until now, American servicemembers risked their military careers if they sought help in treating the psychological trauma brought about by combat, or even disclosed it. After repeated tours in the war theater, it seems unrealistic to expect that people would not suffer at least some degree of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, it just means they are human.

A new rule implemented by the federal government relaxes that problem, at least when it comes to getting security clearances, and Uncle Sam definitely worked on behalf of our beleaguered combat veterans who need the support of each and every American citizen and institution.

(ORLANDO, Fla.) - Miley Cyrus 15-year-old Miley Cyrus, teen idol and star of the Disney Channel show Hannah Montana, who was pictured half-nude and topless, with only a satin sheet or blanket protecting her modesty for the June issue of Vanity Fair has been pulled from her first public appearance since photo hit the internet.

Disney confirmed to TMZ.com that Cyrus, who was set to walk the red carpet for the "Disney Channel Games" this coming Friday, will not be there.

Oregon Hospitals Required to Collect New Race and Ethnicity Patient Data

State officials say the program is designed to make sure people of all races are receiving equal treatment.

(LAKE OSWEGO, Ore.) - Hospital registratin Beginning in January 2008, the state of Oregon began requiring hospitals to obtain patients' race and ethnicity data upon hospital registration.

The information will be collected for inpatient discharges and outpatient surgeries. The rule does not require hospitals to collect the data for emergency room admits or other ancillary services such as labs and diagnostic imaging.

One Driver Dies in Crash Involving Two Semi-Trucks

(MADRAS, Ore.) - Fatal crash art Police say one person is dead following a head-on crash involving two semi-trucks on Highway 97 near milepost 191. The crash, which closed Highway 97 for approximately 7 hours, is now open to one lane traffic.
