Kayaker Rescued by Coast Guard at Cape Arago

The man was reportedly suffering from hypothermia.

(CAPE ARAGO, Ore.) - Coast Guard helicopter The Coast Guard says crews rescued a 30-year old male after his kayak overturned north of Cape Arago, Oregon, today.

The Coast Guard Group at North Bend received a call at approximately 1:37 PM from the Coos Bay County Sheriff and a Good Samaritan that a man had reportedly overturned his kayak north of Cape Arago.

Baseball Bat Attack During Home Invasion Leaves Two Hospitalized

An apparent revenge attack over an attempted rape was carried out on the wrong people.

(GLADSTONE, Ore.) - Home Invasion Gladstone Police are investigating a home invasion that left two people injured at an apartment complex on Caldwell Road. Sgt. Lynne Benton with Gladstone Police says they were notified of the attack at about 4:00 AM.

Officers responded to the call after a report that 4-5 subjects kicked in the apartment door and beat a guest who was sleeping on the couch with a baseball bat.

Six Police Officers Fire Fatal Shots at Man in Douglas County

Police say the man was killed after he exited a car brandishing a handgun.

(ROSEBURG, Ore.) - Police shooting A Douglas County man died early Sunday morning after he was shot by police officers during what they describe as an armed standoff on a rural logging road, following the man's attempt to elude State, county and city police officers.

Police say it began at approximately 1:20 AM this morning when an Oregon State Police trooper attempted contact with a lone male occupant of a suspicious vehicle at the Douglas County Fairgrounds.

Madras Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash

Oregon State Police troopers from the Bend Area Command office are continuing the investigation.

(MADRAS, Ore.) - Fatal motorcycle vs pickup crash in Madras, Oregon 4-12-08 Police say a Madras-area man died at a Bend hospital from injuries sustained in a Saturday afternoon two vehicle crash in Madras on Highway 361 at SW Belmont Lane.

Oregon State Police Sergeant Don Wagner says that Saturday around 1:00 PM, a 1981 Honda motorcycle operated by 51-year old Wayne Schjoll of Madras, was southbound on Culver Highway when it was struck by a 1975 Chevrolet pickup driven by 28-year old Jeremy Pollock of Culver.

Coast Guard Searches for Boat in Distress Off Oregon Coast

The searches provided no signs of there having been any vessel in distress in the area.

(SEATTLE) - Coast Guard helicopter Coast Guard rescue crews are responding to a report of a recreational vessel in distress in the vicinity of Winchester Bay, 20 miles north of Coos Bay, Oregon.

The Coast Guard Group at North Bend received the report at 2:00 AM from someone stating that they were aboard the recreational vessel Rubber Ducky and had run out of food and water. Later another call came in stating that the vessel was taking on water.
