A Marine combat vet who served in Iraq uses medical marijuana to deal with war-related PTSD, and is tossed into the grinder by the California court system.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Marine Corps Sergeant Phil Northcutt in Iraq In part one of this special three-part series report, we learned that Marine Corps Sergeant Phillip Northcutt of Long Beach, California, began his enlistment in the Marines in 1998 as the platoon "Honorman".

When Northcutt returned home from Iraq, his one-year non-extendable tour was extended over his battlefield injuries. The combat vet had PTSD and could barely walk. He began growing using medical marijuana to deal with combat-related PTSD, but fell victim to a bogus set of laws that punish combat vets for seeking relief. Part 2 explains more of the story.

Oregon Gets Ready for Chelsea Clinton

Hillary spent last weekend in Oregon holding events in Portland and Eugene.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - Chelsea Clinton Chelsea Clinton is coming to Oregon this weekend.

The former first daughter will visit the Beaver State on Saturday on behalf of her mother, Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Hillary Clinton.

Chelsea will speak from 3:30 to 5:00 PM at Oregon State University in Corvallis. She will also address Oregon Democrats at their convention at 1:15 PM in Eugene. She will also make a visit to Portland State University.

Consumers Warned to Avoid Certain Cereals Made by the Malt-O-Meal Company

The recalled brands of unsweetened puffed rice and puffed wheat cereals include not only Malt-O-Meal's own label but Acme, America's Choice, Food Club, Giant, Hannaford, Jewel, Laura Lynn, Pathmark, Shaw's, ShopRite, Tops and Weis Quality.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Recalled cereals, 4-10-08 Public health officials warned consumers not to eat certain unsweetened puffed rice and puffed wheat cereals made by the Malt-O-Meal company.

The cereal has been identified as the source of an outbreak of salmonellosis, with cases reported in a number of states.

Two Illegal Immigrants Among Those Arrested During Meth Sweep

Marion County Meth Strike Force Meth Investigation results in arrests, drug, cash & vehicle seizures.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Meth and cash seized during raid in Oregon, 4-10-08 Marion County's Meth Strike Force detectives say they concluded a three month long drug investigation early this morning. Several people were arrested and meth and money were seized from several residences.

Salem Police Lt. Jim Anglemier says the investigation began with information revealed during traffic stop. During the investigation, nearly four pounds of crystal methamphetamine was seized.

Update: Body Found Sunday on Beach Near Cannon Beach Identified as Missing Newberg Man

The bodies of James Nibler and Curtiss Heuer who were aboard the same boat, were previously recovered.

(CANNON BEACH, Ore.) - Coast Guard rescueman Police say a body that washed up onto the beach Sunday afternoon south of Cannon Beach was positively identified by the Clatsop County Medical Examiner as a Newberg man missing since a February 23rd boating incident in the Columbia River. The man's next of kin have been notified.

64-year old Lawrence Gene Nibler of Newberg, was one of three men who died in the February 23rd boating incident.

Oregon Father and Son Arrested on Sex Abuse Charges

The age of the female victims in this case range from 14 – 17 years of age.

(WILSONVILLE, Ore. ) - Russell Hamblen On Wednesday, at 10:20 AM, Clackamas County Sheriff's Detectives and Wilsonville Sheriff's Patrol personnel executed a search warrant at the residential address of 31025 SW Willamette Way East, in Wilsonville, Oregon.

Arrested were the occupants of this residence – father and son – 50-year-old Russell Paul Hamblen and 18-year-old Paul Allen Hamblen. Paul Hamblen had been attending Wilsonville High School and is reported to have engaged in this suspected criminal misconduct – as did his father - at this home in Wilsonville over the last two-years.

Oregon CAP to Conduct Major Exercise This Weekend

CAP will be using their new Airborne Public Address System which was primarily designed for Tsunami warning and relief operations along the Oregon Coast.

(AURORA, Ore. ) - oregon CAP aircraft The Oregon Wing of the Civil Air Patrol will be conducting a major area wide multi-scenario training exercise this weekend, with aircraft and ground teams operating out of the Aurora State Airport north of Salem.

The exercise, which will focus on scenarios involving air search and rescue, will employ the use of at least six aircraft and over 50 personnel from around the state and will be operating from the CAP's Northern Command Center at the Aurora airport.

(CANNON BEACH, Ore. ) - death investigation A body that washed up onto the beach Sunday afternoon about 2 1/2 miles south of Cannon Beach was positively identified by the Clatsop County Medical Examiner as a Newberg man missing since a February 23rd boating incident in the Columbia River.

64-year-old Lawrence Gene Nibler, from Newberg, was one of three men who died in the February 23rd boating incident. While crabbing near buoy 22 in Hammond, a crab pot line became entangled in the out-drive of their 17-foot open bow Weldcraft vessel and the boat subsequently capsized.
