Oregon Target Store Masturbator Goes to Court

The suspect is charged with third degree sex abuse and harassment.

(OREGON CITY, Ore. ) - Ricardo Faulk A Gladstone, Oregon man who police say masturbated and then put his fluids on a female shopper in a Target store faced a Judge for the first time Wednesday.

Police say Ricardo Faulk was caught on a surveillance camera touching himself, and then spreading his bodily fluids on a woman inside the store who was shopping with her 3-year-old daughter.

At the fourth appearance in front of a congressional audience by the United States’ top military commander and envoy to Iraq, Berman, chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, cut to the chase. Already, Army Gen. David H. Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan C. Crocker had both seen more than 12 hours of combined testimony before the start of their final appearance on Capitol Hill Wednesday afternoon.

American Airlines Cancels Over 900 More Flights

11 American Airlines flights in and out of Portland International Airport have been cancelled today.

(FORT WORTH, Texas ) - american airlines American Airlines has canceled more than 900 flights on Thursday as it works to complete the inspections of its MD-80 fleet.

As of Wednesday afternoon: 79 MD-80 aircraft were completely inspected; 60 of the 179 MD-80s were returned to service; 119 of the 179 MD-80s were still undergoing work; and 121 MD-80s remain to be inspected. On Wednesday, American officially canceled 1,094 flights, in addition to the 460 canceled on Tuesday.

Brooke Wilberger Murder Suspect Faces Oregon Judge

Joel Courtney is currently serving 18-years in a New Mexico prison for sexually assaulting and kidnapping a college co-ed.

(CORVALLIS, Ore.) - Joel Courtney The man accused of killing former BYU co-ed Brooke Wilberger made his first court appearance in Oregon on Wednesday.

With Wilberger's family watching the proceedings, the judge entered a “not guilty” plea for the defendant, Joel Patrick Courtney, who was indicted in Wilberger’s disappearance in 2005. He is charged with aggravated murder, rape and kidnapping.

Lock-Down at Prison Near Ontario Continues After Inmate Disturbance and Shooting

(ONTARIO, Ore.) - Prison Corrections officials say the Snake River Correctional Institution near Ontario, Oregon remains on partial lock-down today. The SRCI Minimum Facility and Complex 1 have been taken off of lock-down status. Complex 2 and Complex 3 remain on lock-down.

Visiting for Wednesday and Thursday has been canceled. The status for Visiting on Friday will be evaluated tomorrow.

Voter Registration Caravan will Increase Latino Vote in Oregon

The Caravan will make make stops in Salem and Woodburn.

(SALEM, Ore.) - In commemoration of the 81st Anniversary of the Birthday, Life and Legacy of Cesar E. Chavez, Voz Hispana Causa Chavista, a non-profit organization will participate in a car caravan with allies this Saturday to register voters and encourage Latinos to vote in the upcoming elections.

This weekend's caravan is just one of the many activities Voz Hispana has planned this year to encourage Latino voter turn-out.

As of 3:00 PM, three flights into PDX are cancelled, while one outbound flight at 11:30 PM is listed as on-time.

The inspections of American’s MD-80 fleet were conducted to ensure precise and complete compliance with a Federal Aviation Administration directive related to the bundling of wires in the wheel well of the aircraft.

Oregon`s Dropout Rate Continues to Climb

Even with the increases in the Oregon’s dropout rate, it continues to be significantly lower than the very high dropout rates of the mid-1990’s.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - North Salem High State Schools Superintendent Susan Castillo announced today that Oregon’s statewide dropout rate for the 2006-07 school year was 4.4%, up slightly from last year’s 4.1%.

Oregon defines a dropout as a student in grades 9-12 who withdraws from school without receiving a high school diploma, GED, modified diploma, or transferring to another school.
