California Man Arrested on Amtrak in Salem for 1,792 Oxycotin Tablets

The suspect had allegedly purchased the Oxycotin tablets for $10.00 per pill in Modesto California. The pill's can be sold at street level prices ranging from $22.00 to $60.00 each.

(SALEM ,Ore.) - Oxycotin Suspect James Jones had allegedly purchased the Oxycotin tablets for $10.00 per pill in Modesto California.  He was arrested in Southern California Deputies in Marion County say they have concluded an investigation involving the transportation and delivery of 1,792, 80mg Oxycotin tablets.

Sgt. Gerry Adcock with Marion County's Meth Strike Force, says 29-year old James T. Jones of Modesto California was arrested without incident on an Amtrak just prior to the train arriving in Salem Oregon.

In past years the winery concentrated its efforts on its established line of premium fruit and specialty wines, but its growth is now being aided by its American line of Niagara, Concord and Muscat.

Driver in Fatal Pedestrian Crash Cooperating with Detectives

If you were in the area of S.W. 198th Avenue and S.W. Butternut Street on the evening of Wednesday, January 10th and you observed this vehicle, please call the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Death investigation Police say 24-year old Rebecca Marie Murphy of Aloha, whose body was found Thursday, January 10th on S.W. 198th Avenue, south of S.W. Butternut Street, was killed when she was struck by a vehicle.

Sgt. David Thompson with the Washington County Sheriff's Office says a truck was identified as the vehicle that struck the woman. The owner of the truck was also the driver of the truck on the night that Mrs. Murphy was killed, Thompson said.

Two Providence Medical Centers Receive Top Heart Honor

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Employees of Providence St. Vincent in Portland, Oregon The American Heart Association has again recognized Providence Portland and Providence St. Vincent medical centers for their continued work with the association’s "Get with the Guidelines" program. The program is a hospital-based quality improvement plan that uses discharge protocols to reduce the recurrence of cardiovascular disease.

This is the fourth year that Providence Portland Medical Center has received the recognition, placing it in a select group of hospitals across the nation. Providence Portland implemented the program in 2002.

The E10 standard kicks in on January 15 for these counties in northwest Oregon: Clackamas, Clatsop, Columbia, Marion, Multnomah, Polk, Tillamook, Washington, and Yamhill.
