(SALEM, Ore. ) - Oregon voters only have a few more hours to get their ballots in. Voters have until 8:00 PM tonight to turn in their ballots. State and local election officials are predicting a lackluster voter turnout.

Voters will decide on Measure 50, the "Healthy Kids" plan, which would create an children's health insurance fund that would be paid for with an increase in cigarette taxes. Measure 49, referred to the voters by the Legislature, is an amended version of Measure 37, that would roll back the 2004 property rights law.

Local Girl in Custodial Interference Case Recovered in Connecticut

The Ron Paul campaign has raised more than $6.84 million in the first five weeks of this quarter.

The Paul campaign says that in 16 hours, the Ron Paul campaign brought in over $4.07 million in one day Million million in online contributions, making it the largest single-day online primary fundraising effort by a presidential candidate in United States election history.

Oregon Receives $5.5 Million From Feds for Medical Care

Oregon is among a number of states to receive federal dollars to create health record banks.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon has received a two-year, $5.5 million federal grant to create a secure online database of health records that will improve health care and reduce unnecessary costs for the state's more than 400,000 Medicaid beneficiaries.

The Medicaid "health records bank" will provide access to medical information for the state Medicaid office and its physician, hospital, pharmacy and other medical partners to help them eliminate duplication and reduce errors.

He is Major John L. Carroll, U.S. Air Force, of Decatur, Ga. He will be buried on November 13th at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Police Arrest 3 Suspects in Miami Teacher Shooting

Miami police say three suspects who ran away from the scene were located in a nearby apartment complex and were arrested.

(MIAMI, Fla. ) - A teacher who was shot in the lower body outside a Miami-area high school Tuesday morning, is expected to survive.

John Schuster spokesman for Miami-Dade County Public Schools says the male teacher from Miami Carol City Senior High School was shot during an apparent robbery.

89-Year Old Newberg Man Struck by Car

The investigation is continuing.

(DUNEE, Ore.) - An 89-year old man was struck by a motor vehicle in the 1300 block of East Fulton Street, near Friendsview Manor, a local retirement community. It happened shortly after 7:00 PM Monday according to the Newberg-Dundee Police Department.

The injured pedestrian, 89-year old Elvett H. Brown, is a resident of Friendsview Manor. He was walking northbound across Fulton, near his home, and was a few steps away from the curb when he was struck by an eastbound white 1998 Ford Windstar van, driven by 48-year old David Andrew Ticknor of Newberg.

A spokesman for the Miami-Dade County Public Schools says the male teacher from Miami Carol City Senior High School was shot during an apparent robbery. Miami police say two suspects ran away from the scene and are believed to be in a nearby apartment complex which is now being searched.
