(UPDATE) Police Pursuit Leads to Injury Crash

Deputies from the Marion County Sheriff's Office are currently investigating the incident.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Deputies in Marion County say they attempted to stop a stolen vehicle in the 4400 block of State Street in Salem at 11:00 AM.

Lieutenant Jason Myers says the stolen vehicle attempted to elude deputies and after a very short pursuit collied with two vehicles at the intersection of State Street and Lancaster Drive. Myers says medics were called to the crash scene and transported the driver of the stolen van along with a driver of one of the involved vehicles.

10-Year Old Oregon Student Brings Handgun‏ to School

The student was located after other students informed their principal about the gun. It was not loaded, nobody was hurt.

(OREGON CITY) - A ten-year old Mount Scott Elementary School in Happy Valley has been arrested for bringing a handgun to school. The child now faces charges several charges. The school is located at 11201 SE Stevens Road in Happy Valley.

School officials say that around 9:30 AM, a deputy responded to a report of student who brought a 9mm, handgun to the start of school. This weapon was discovered as unloaded, with an empty magazine.

Deborah Kerr Dies in England

(SUFFOLK, England) - Deborah Kerr, the British actress who was immortalized in the 1953 film "From Here to Eternity," has died at the age of 86. She had been suffering from Parkinson's disease for some time. She died Tuesday in Suffolk, England, according to her agent.

Deborah Kerr was the eldest child and only daughter of Captain Arthur Kerr-Trimmer, a naval architect, and his wife, Kathleen Rose, Deborah Jane Kerr-Trimmer was born in Glasgow, Scotland. She had a younger brother, Edward, who became a journalist and died in a road-rage incident in 2004.

Joey Bishop of Frank Sinatra's "Rat Pack" dies at the age of 89.

(LOS ANGELES) - Joey Bishop, member of the infamous "Rat Pack" led by Frank Sinatra has passed away in Southern California. Joey Bishop grew up in South Philadelphia, and began his comedy career doing vaudeville.

Mr. Bishop died Wednesday night of multiple causes at his home in Newport Beach, publicist and longtime friend Warren Cowan said Thursday. Still known as Joey Gottlieb at the time, he was briefly in a comedy group that called itself "The Bishop Trio", named for the group's driver. When the act broke up, Bishop kept the name for himself.

Freeway Traffic South of Salem Halted

ODOT expects the crash to be cleaned up by early Thursday afternoon. Detour routes are being set up.

(SALEM, Ore.) - A tractor-trailer rig traveling south on Interstate 5 just south of Salem crashed at about 8:30 AM Thursday, temporarily blocking both southbound lanes of the freeway at milepoint 245.

Police say the tractor came to a stop on the shoulder guardrail, with its trailer blocking the outside "slow" lane of I-5. The crash punctured the fuel tank, and approximately 100 gallons of diesel has spilled. Most of the fuel has been contained by responding ODOT crews.

The most powerful country in thee world has been struggling for months over President Bush's commitment to deny health insurance coverage to kids while he sends thousands of Americans and countless others to their deaths in a war based on dishonest information.

The AP reports that almost two dozen states may have to trim the number of families covered under a children's health program soon, if lawmakers and the Bush administration don't reach an settlement over how much money should be targeted for the program's survival.

However, elements of the Air Force, supported by U.S. intelligence agency personnel, successfully revealed the ultimate destination of the nuclear weapons and the mission was aborted due to internal opposition within the Air Force and U.S. Intelligence Community.
