Man Arrested for Stealing From Woodburn Youth Football Association

(WOODBURN, Ore. ) - Woodburn police have arrested a former youth football association member on allegations that he stole from the organization’s account.

Woodburn police say 38-year-old Johnny Guzman, who was a past president and treasurer of the Woodburn Youth Football Association, was arrested on first-degree theft and probation violation charges Tuesday.

Suspect Sought in High School Sports Fundraising Scam

The suspect was last seen driving a 1994 green Ford Taurus four-door station wagon with Oregon license plate 954CGG.

(WOODBURN, Ore. ) - Woodburn and mid-valley residents should be on the lookout for a false sports fundraising scam.

Police say 42-year-old Eric Lloyd has been representing himself to local businesses as a representative raising money for the St. Luke's Catholic School sports program. Lloyd claims that he sells ads for a school sports flyer, then keeps the money and moves or then leaves the area.

Re-Opening of 25th Street SE‏ in Salem Delayed

Motorists will have to wait a little longer for construction to be completed.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Due to recent and forecast weather conditions, the reopening of 25th Street SE in Salem will be delayed one to two weeks, public works officials say.

25th Street SE was closed between Hyde Street SE and Hyde Court SE on June 18th of this year, in order to widen the bridge over Shelton Ditch. This work and street closure was scheduled to be completed mid October 2007.

Oregon Driver Escapes Injury During Highway Landslide

Traffic was delayed for several hours due to the slide.

(CANBY, Ore.) - Oregon's Highway 99E was hit by mud and rock landslide today near Canby, and firefighters and rescue personnel say a passengers in a vehicle passing through at the moment it happened are luck to not be hurt.

The embankment along 99E slid into a northbound travel lane at 8:59 AM, littering the highway with rock and debris the slide hit a mini van that was traveling northbound along highway 99E, Canby Fire Division Chief Buzalsky said.

Mudslide Closes Part of Highway 99-E Near Canby

The Oregon Coast has several roads blocked due to downed trees and power lines.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - A mudslide has CLOSED two lanes on Highway 99E near Canby, north of South End Road. Starting today through Sunday one northbound lane and one southbound lane on Highway 99E will be open near the site of the mud slide.

ODOT crews discovered more rock and debris above the roadway near the near the mudslide that must be removed to prevent future slides. There are intermittent highway closures in Clatsop, Tillamook and Lincoln counties.
