Names Released in Fatal Motorcycle Crash North of Newberg‏

The crash was found by the victim's husband and step-son who were checking the area to see where they had gone during a family group ride.

(NEWBERG, Ore.) - Fatal motorcycle crash scene, 9-2-07 near Newberg, Oregon The two people riding a motorcycle that crashed 40 feet down an embankment Sunday have been identified.

The cycle's operator, 51-year old Carolyn Caylor of Canby, was southbound, executing a sharp left curve on a three-wheel 1994 Honda Goldwing, when it drove off the shoulder between a guardrail and tree and continued down an embankment where it came to rest. Mrs. Caylor died and her passenger, 38-year old Shel Rae Claddagh of Canby, was seriously injured.

Stayton Woman Drowns in North Santiam River

Two companions with the victim were not injured.

(ALBANY, Ore.) - Drowning investigation A Stayton woman drowned today in the North Santiam River approximately five miles West of Lyons. Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller says dispatchers received the report at 2:26 PM that 27-year old Jessica Lynn Liddell, and two companions were floating on rubber inner tubes down the North Santiam River.

"They came to a bend in the river and through a set of rapids. The water forced the three towards shore where Jessica became caught in logs and debris."

(NEW PHOTOS) Truck Drivers Help Police Stop Attempt to Elude on Interstate 84

Police say commercial truck drivers who stopped the driver used CB radios to coordinate their effort.

(BIGGS JUNCTION, Ore.) - Erwin Bartlett Oregon State Police say three commercial truck drivers brought a police chase to a grinding halt today near Boardman on Interstate 84.

Sergeant Patrick Shortt with OSP says the driver is alleged to have led a chase today that spanned fifty miles. The suspect's attempts to elude officers started in the Boardman area Shortt added, and ended near the John Day Dam, where three truck drivers blocked the westbound lanes of Interstate 84, leading to the suspect abandon his attempt and flee on foot before being captured.

Fatal Motorcycle Crash - Highway 219 Near Newberg‏

It has been a tragic weekend for motorcycle riders in Oregon and their families.

(NEWBERG, Ore.) - Photo of 9-2-07 motorcycle crash scene near Newberg One person died and a second was seriously injured after their motorcycle went off the SW Hillsboro Highway, about six miles north of Newberg.

Police say the bike crashed about 40 feet down an embankment, and was found by the victim's husband and step-son who were checking the area to see where they had gone during their group ride.

Oregon State Police Seek Driver of Pickup Involved in Collision with Motorcycle

The crash happened on Highway 242, east of McKenzie Bridge, near Springfield.

(EUGENE, Ore.) - Motorcycle in crash near Springfiled, Oregon 9-2-07 A Springfield woman was seriously injured when her motorcycle drove into the oncoming lane and was struck by a pickup about 20 miles east of Mckenzie Bridge on Highway 242.

Oregon State Police say the driver left the scene after the ambulance departed, but he did not wait for a responding OSP trooper. It is not believed that the driver intentionally left prior to speaking with police, but they still need to talk to him and obtain his information.
