Willamina Home Invasion Suspects Arrested Along Oregon Coast

Police say the victim's condition is improving.

(McMINNVILLE, Ore. ) - Two suspects in a Willamina home invasion robbery were arrested this morning in the city of Toledo.

Shay Kili Charley, 33 and Marlin Dwain Tolbert III Aka: Casey Tolbert, 19, were wanted in connection with the robbery and assault of a Willamina man.

Yamhill County Sheriff Jack Crabtree said his detectives received information that the pair may have gone to the Oregon coast in the victims stolen Toyota pickup after the robbery and assault.

Sweet Home Man Killed in ATV Accident

Neither rider was wearing helmets or protective gear.

(SWEET HOME, Ore. ) - Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller reports a Sweet Home man died Friday afternoon when his ATV left the road and hit a tree near Sweet Home.

Ryan David Hocking, age 18, was riding a Polaris four wheeled ATV on Cascade Timber property on the Ames Creek main line gravel logging road at approximately 4:00 PM.

Riding with him, on a separate ATV, was Travis Smith, age 20, also of Sweet Home.

Man Sought in Disappearance of Oregon Teen

A $5,000 reward is being offered by her parents for her safe return.

(PRINEVILLE, Ore. ) - Prineville police have identified an 18-year-old “person of interest” in the disappearance of 16-year-old Amanda Whitehurst from Prineville, Oregon.

Police say they are looking for Maxwell Alan Villa and two male juveniles who may be in a white 1997 Toyota 4-Runner, with Oregon license XLG 591, which was reported stolen.

Villa is described as 5’10, 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Thousands Expected for Salem Hoopla

Court Street NE is CLOSED between 12th Street and Cottage Street. The closure will last until Sunday at 8:00 PM.

Events today include: parade through downtown Jefferson, frog jumping contest, horseshoe tournaments, quilt show, live music, fireworks tonight and more.

The parade begins at 10:00 AM, while the ever popular frog jumping contest begins at 1:00 PM.

Bush to Undergo Colonoscopy; Cheney to Assume Power

Doctors removed polyps, which can be a precursor to cancer, from Bush before he became President.

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - President George W. Bush will undergo a colonoscopy on Saturday as part of a routine examination, the White House said.

Vice President Dick Cheney will assume power because Bush will be under anaesthesia during the procedure.

Bush last underwent a colonoscopy in June 2002 and his doctors recommend he receive one every five years to check for colorectal cancer.

Two Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Highway 20

Both victims, who were using protective helmets, were pronounced deceased at the scene.

(SANTIAM JUNCTION, Ore. ) - Two people died Friday morning when the motorcycle they were traveling on lost control on Highway 20W about 1/2 mile east of Santiam Junction and were struck by a commercial truck.

Preliminary investigation by OSP troopers indicates at about 11:28 AM the male and female adult victims were traveling on a 1988 Honda motorcycle towing a small trailer.

As the motorcycle was negotiating a right curve in the right hand eastbound lane, the male operator lost control.

Arrest Made in Willamina Pharmacy Robbery

The investigation into the robbery is continuing, and more arrests are expected.

(WILLAMINA, Ore. ) - Yamhill County Sheriff’s Detectives have made an arrest in the December 18th, 2006 robbery of a pharmacy in Willamina.

The suspects demanded Oxycontin, a Schedule II controlled substance, which is a highly addictive narcotic analgesic and relative to the morphine family.

The two suspects left with pills valued at approximately $15,000, and a small amount of cash.

Wyden Calls for More Review of Possible ESA Tampering

After recent ethics problems at the Interior Department, Wyden says Congress needs evidence that only eight cases were “improperly influenced”.

(WASHINGTON, D.C. ) - “The Interior Department’s assurances that their internal reviews are adequate just aren’t enough,” said Wyden. “It’s Congress’ job to perform oversight in these types of cases; and after all of the recent revelations of ethics problems at the Interior Department, Congress needs evidence that these are the only cases Ms. MacDonald interfered with.”
