AMBER Alert Issued in Washington UPDATED

UPDATE: The vehicle in this case was located with nobody inside at 9:05 AM in Stevens County, Washington. Deputies are checking the area for the children and the suspects.

(WALLA WALLA, Wa.) - Amber Alert logo Children that Washington authorities say were taken by their natural father may be in extreme danger due to the man's unstable mental condition.

The children and the suspect were last seen in Waitsburg, Washington at approximately 4:00 PM on Saturday, March 24th. Police say the suspect is the children's biological father. Due to recent mental issues, they believe the children are in immediate danger. His vehicle is a two-tone brown 1978 Volkswagon Van with Washington license plate number 349NRK.

Minor Injury Crash Partially Closes I-5 South of Salem

State Police say the crash involved an SUV and a trailer.

(SALEM) - Police lights Four members of a British Columbia family received minor injuries Saturday afternoon when their sport utility vehicle towing a travel trailer rolled on Interstate 5 just south of Salem Saturday afternoon.


Investigators with Oregon State Police say the crash happened Saturday at approximately 1:25 PM, when the driver of a Toyota Landcruiser towing a travel trailer lost control while northbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 248.

Oregon Civil Air Patrol Prepares for Terrorist Response Training

The exercise will utilize a state headquarters Incident Command Post located at the Aurora State Airport.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Civil Air Patrol airplane The Oregon Wing of the Civil Air Patrol, in coordination with the United States Air Force and the Department of Homeland Security, will be participating in a week long six state simulated terrorist training and evaluation exercise
starting next weekend.

The exercise, based on a simulated terrorist attack somewhere in the western United States, will utilize multiple bases of operations throughout the state where 6 Oregon CAP aircraft are assigned.

Suspicious Device Discovered at Marine Recruiting Office in Salem

This is not the first time in recent months that police have been called out the the Marine Recruiting office on Lancaster, a sign on the building was damaged by grafitti late last year.

(SALEM) - Marion County Sheriff badge Marion County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a suspicious device at the Marine Corps Recruiting Office Saturday morning at 4:20 AM The recruiting office is located at 3060 Lancaster Dr NE in Salem, Oregon.

Don Sweet with the Sheriff's Office says officers arriving on the scene found the suspicious device at the front of the building.

(SALEM) - Bully art As I approach my 66th birthday, the mind wanders back to a much earlier era when the use of "dirty word" was strictly taboo. Today's young people -- and even some middle-aged folks -- might view this attitude as obsolete.

When yours truly was coming of age in my hometown of New York, gangsters and bullies were largely associated with profanity. Those who indulged in such language were considered the icons of violence.

In fact, users of profane terms were viewed as being drawn from a less-educated, less-refined social class. People wanted to avoid them.
