Oregon Inmate Rams Car Through Prison Fence, Escapes Authorities

David Anthony Marrow could be in the mid-Willamette Valley.

(NORTH BEND) - Shortly after 4:30 Monday afternoon, an inmate escaped from the minimum-security Shutter Creek Correctional Institution near North Bend.

29-year-old David Anthony Marrow, is a white male with brown hair and brown eyes.

Law enforcement officers statewide have been notified that the fugitive was last seen driving a 1999 red Jeep Cherokee, Oregon (tree) plates "GATITA."

(SALEM) - The Salem-Keizer Transit District has announced the following changes to service today because of the snow and freezing rain.

The National Weather Service has issued a Snow Advisory until 4:00 PM today.

If you must travel in the snow today, PLEASE slow down and use EXTREME caution.

Spirit Mountain Casino has also cancelled all shuttle buses today.

(SALEM) - If you are heading to the Portland area, Be Aware! that most streets and highways north of Salem are seeing major delays because of accidents.

Chains or traction tires are now required for all vehicles on Portland area highways.

The requirement is in effect until further notice, ODOT said.

ODOT encourages drivers to delay trips planned on area highways if at all possible.

PDX says there are some delays because of the weather, and 30 flights have been cancelled.

The Clackamas County Board of Commissioners has ordered that all county operations, except emergency

Five Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash in West Salem

Polk County Sheriff's Deputies were investigating the accident.

(WEST SALEM) - Five people were injured Monday when four cars collided on Highway 22 at Doaks Ferry Road NW in West Salem. Salem Fire crews had to extricate a patient who was critically injured from the wreckage.

The collision happened at 7:49 PM. Of the five people injured, three were in non-serious condition, one male who was in serious condition and another male who was critical.

Salem Woman Faces Manslaughter Charge in Fatal Weekend Crash

Police say the suspect ran from the scene and tried to hide behind some bushes.

(SALEM) - A Salem woman faces a first-degree Manslaughter charge after a crash Sunday night that left a passenger in her SUV dead.

Salem Police Lt. Chuck Bennett says 25-year old Aislyn Marie Decorte was driving eastbound in the 700 block of Ratcliff Drive SE when her vehicle entered the 'S' curves and lost control, then smashed into a landscaped area and crashed into a tree with the front passenger side of the vehicle.

Police say passenger 24-year-old Jess Eldon Gregory, died from injuries suffered in the crash.

Oregon Gas Prices Continue to Tumble

An anti-price gouging bill has been introduced in Congress.

(SALEM) - Finally, some relief at pump.

According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded in Oregon dropped 4-cents over the past week to $2.64.

Oregon now has the nation's third highest gas prices, trailing only Hawaii at $2.91, and Washington at $2.65.

2-Vehicle Crash Sends Three to Oregon Health Sciences University

All three victims transported were from the same vehicle.

(SALEM) - A two-vehicle crash in Salem sent three people to Oregon Health Sciences Hospital in a life flight helicopter Saturday.

Sgt Jeff Wheeler with the Marion County Sheriff's Office says the 2:53 PM crash happened in the 9400 block of Enchanted Way SE in Salem.

The three injured people, 23-year old Sara J. Wood, 18-month old Brayson Wood, and four-year old Ethan Wood, were transported to Salem Hospital and then life flighted to OSHU.

Crash Blocks Traffic for Hours on Oregon SR 213

The 3:34 AM crash is under investigation by OSP.

(OREGON CITY) - A two-car head on crash sent two people to the hospital early Monday morning. The accident happened on State Route 213 near Milepost 6, about half a mile south of LeLand Road.

Investigators with Oregon State Police say that around 3:34 AM a Ford Ranger pick up collided with a Honda Accord sedan.

The driver of the Honda Accord was 47-year old Jon McGrath from West Linn. He was taken by Life Flight helicopter to the Oregon Health Sciences University trauma center and is in serious condition.

Oregon DEQ Fines Salem-Keizer School District For Allowing Unlicensed Contractor To Perform Asbestos Project

The Salem-Keizer School District and three contractors have been fined, most are appealing.

(SALEM) - The Salem-Keizer School District and three mid-valley contractors were fined last month by the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality for a June 2006 asbestos removal project at Grant Elementary School, located at 725 Market St. NE.

The DEQ fined the district $4,500 for allowing an unlicensed contractor to perform an asbestos abatement project during kitchen remodel at the school, and allowing open accumulation of asbestos-containing waste materials.
