Oregon`s Deception Complex Fire Continues with Spotting Distance Less than a Half Mile

The Deception Complex Fire is located two miles west of Oakridge, Oregon, encompassing 2,747 acres, with 55% contained, and 1,068 total personnel fighting the fire.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Deception Complex fire Friday evening’s glow seen from Oakridge was the product of successful burnout operations on the eastern perimeter of the fire line.

A critical fire weather pattern continues today with south/southeast winds approximately 7-12 mph with gusts up to 27 mph. There were no spots outside of the established fire lines of the Deception Complex, and the intensity of the burn was kept to a low or moderate level.

(NEHALEM BAY, Ore.) - glowing phytoplankton Angelina Martin of Portland acquired some extremely rare video of a fantastic phenomenon on the Oregon coast that virtually no one knows about. She recently caught the glowing phytoplankton – which is downright impossible to photograph. But she caught it on video.

It’s also a sign you may find what is known as “glowing sand” along the coast right now – an absolutely stunning sight, but too faint to be photographed when on the sand. At least, here in Oregon.

Six Forest Fires in Oregon Still Raging

No new fires 10 acres or larger were reported on lands protected by ODF in the past 24 hours.

(SALEM, Ore.) - oregon forest fires The Lost Hubcap Fire was reported around 1:30 p.m. on August 29th, and quickly burned on Bureau of Land Management and private forestlands protected by ODF. On August 29, 2014, Oregon Department of Forestry Incident Management Team 2 (Incident Commander Chris Cline) was deployed to the Lost Hubcap Fire, assuming command of the fire from the local ODF unit of the Central Oregon District at 1200 hours PDT on Saturday.

Vehicle vs. Bicyclist collision on NW Hill Road

The bicyclist was transferred to OHSU via Life Flight Network helicopter and is listed in serious condition.

(McMINNVILLE, Ore. ) - freighliner-trailer A bicycle collided with a Freighliner tractor/trailer today on a common thoroughfare in McMinnville, Oregon.

Bicyclist Richard Barrett, a 67 year old resident of Corvallis, Oregon, was riding a bicycle southbound on the west shoulder of NW Hill Road. 33-year old Kasey Kauer, from Amity, was also southbound on NW Hill Road operating a 1993 Freightliner tractor pulling a low-boy trailer with an agricultural spray rig secured to the deck.

Military Terror Hits US Cities As Veterans Banned From Owning Guns?

VA doctor asked disabled veteran if he owned any guns.

(PHILADELPHIA, PA) - Robert O`Dowd 2012 I was asked by a VA doctor last week if I owned any guns. I said, “No, but I know how to use them.” He was typing into a government database when he asked the question. I don’t know if my flip response was typed into the database.

The middle age male doctor reminded me of a Nazi scientist (not kidding): Just firing off questions like “is there any mental illness in my family? Was I sexually abused as a child? Do I own any guns? Have I had suicide ideation? Did I ever attempt to kill myself?” Where is all this coming from? I recalled an article I'd read with the above headline.
