Nestled in the mountains east of Salem, the waterfalls at Silver Creek Falls are one of the most popular natural attractions in the Salem area.

The Canyon Trail is a nationally recognized trail system that leads hikers along the banks of the north and south forks of Silver Creek.

It takes you to 10 majestic waterfalls, ranging from the grand South Falls (177 feet), to the delicate Drake Falls (27 feet).

Four of the falls have an amphitheater-like surrounding where you can walk behind the falls and feel the misty, crisp spray.

(MCMINNVILLE) - A 22-year-old McMinnville soldier is recovering in a Texas military hospital from burns suffered in a roadside attack on his Bradley fighting vehicle on June 23rd in Iraq.

Salvador Trujillo-Lopez suffered second- and third-degree burns over 40 percent of his body, according to his wife, Brittnay.

She is with her husband at Brook Army Medical Center, at San Antonio's Fort Sam Houston, where he is expected to spend the rest of the year.

Albany Police Seeking Woman Suspected of Robbing Two Businesses Monday

(ALBANY) - Albany police are asking for the public’s help in locating 32-year-old Rachel Lea Soto they believe on Monday robbed two businesses in Albany.

Officers responded to an armed robbery just after 4:00 PM Monday at the 7-Eleven store, located at 6190 Pacific Blvd. S.W.

A woman entered the store, asked the clerk for a pack of cigarettes and started to walk to the door, Police Capt. Eric Carter said.

When the clerk confronted the woman about not paying, she pointed a small-frame .38-caliber revolver at the clerk and “made a reference to not having to pay for anything,” Carter said.
