(SALEM) - Oregon State held on to beat North Carolina 3-2 for its first College World Series title. The national title is only the second in Oregon State history.

The Keizer City Council last week approved a 4 percent water rate increase.

The increase means residents on average will pay between $7 and $8 more per year for water services.

Patients at the Oregon State Hospital in Salem, are using culture and art as part of their therapy and daily living.

Amber Alert Cancelled in Washington for Missing Baby

Officials had been extremely concerned, as the small child was abducted from a children's hospital where he had been awaiting surgery.

(SEATTLE) - An Amber Alert has been cancelled in Washington, following the recovery of 9-month old Riley Rogers. The child was recovered in Yelm Washington.

Police say 4 suspects were arrested in connection with the abduction and are in custody in Yelm.

The child, taken from a children's hospital where he was awaiting surgery, does not appear to be in distress.

Two Arrested For Selling, Using Drugs Near Three Greater Albany Public Schools

(ALBANY) - The Linn Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 2010 SW 16th Avenue in Albany on Thursday.

Arrested at the scene pursuant to the search warrant were 49-year old Julie Gail Hokema and 51-year old Michael Edward Raper, both occupants of the residence.

Hokema was arrested and charged with Unlawful Delivery of Heroin within 1000 feet of a School, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance-Heroin, and Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants-Controlled Substance.

Record heat is expected this weekend through Monday in the Willamette Valley.

(SALEM) - The Hottest Weather of the year will likely come to the inland areas of northwest Oregon and southwest Washington this weekend.

High Temperatures in much of the interior of northwest Oregon and Southwest Washington will be around 90 on Saturday and in the mid to upper 90`s Sunday. Monday will be the hottest day with highs near 100 degrees in most of the Willamette Valley.

Safe & Sound Reminder From The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office Marine Rescue Unit.

(Oregon City) - The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Marine Rescue Unit would like to remind everyone the present temperature of the Clackamas River is only 53 degrees, combined with an enormous volume of water resulting from this years abundant snow melt. The United States Geological Service reporting this Clackamas River is discharging at a rate of 1662 cubic feet per second.

At 1:00 PM Friday, the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Marine Rescue responded to assist four teenagers who were floating the Clackamas River on inner tubes, encountered some turbulent water and were separated from their inner tubes; reportedly, with no personal floatation devices being worn.

Major Fire Erupts at Biodiesel Manufacturing Site

(CANBY) - At approximately 3:45 PM the Clackamas 911 center received a call for smoke in the area on S Heinze Rd, in the rural area surrounding Canby. Within minutes several calls started to pour into CCOM stating that there was large amounts of Black smoke "Billowing" from a residence located at 9801 S. Heinze Rd.

Canby Fire arrived on scene at 3:55 PM and quickly determined that there was heavy fire involvement to one barn and that flames were threatening a barn 30 feet to the south.

Minutes into fire suppression activities it was apparent that this was no ordinary fire. "We kept sweeping the fire down, and it kept flaring right back," stated Captain Val Codino.

Marion County Sheriff`s Office to Host Community Meeting on Recent Metal Thefts

(GERVAIS) - The Marion County Sheriff's Office is inviting north Marion County farm owners to attend a meeting on Tuesday, June 27th to discuss the recent theft of metal from farm fields in the area.

The Sheriff's office would like to brainstorm with area farmers and come up with solutions to help deter or apprehend the subjects involved.

Present at the meeting will be representatives from patrol and detectives who are currently working this area. Others in the area who have been a victim of a theft within the last six months are also invited to attend.

Fire Season Begins Monday in Three Willamette Valley Forest Districts

The declaration of fire season places restrictions on timber harvest activities in the forest. Loggers will be required to have firefighting equipment at their operation sites.

(SALEM) - West Oregon, South Cascade and Western Lane districts will enter fire season on Monday according to the Oregon Department of Forestry.
