Safe Drinking Water Loan Fund Tops $100 Million Benchmark as Woodburn Completes Water Facility

(Woodburn) - The City of Woodburn has completed a $4 million project to bring its water treatment plants into compliance with federal drinking water standards. It was funded through the Safe Drinking Water Revolving Loan Fund, which has lent more than $100 million to 68 Oregon water systems, leveraging federal dollars for health and economic benefit.

The official celebration of the new facility Wednesday happens March 1st, at 10:00 AM at the City of Woodburn Water Treatment Plant No. 3, 1084 Country Club Road.

Deadline Approaching for Disabled Veterans to Apply for County Property Tax Exemption

(Salem) - The deadline is approaching for veterans with service-connected disabilities to apply with their county tax assessors office for property tax exemption.

Along with an increased property tax exemption for disabled veterans, a newly-created property tax exemption is available to certain National Guard servicemembers and Reservists activated to federal service.

Property tax exemptions will not occur automatically. Application MUST be made on or before April 1st with your county assessor`s office.
