Formal Demobilization Tuesday for Oregon Army National Guard A Company, 249th Aviation

(Salem) - A/249 soldiers flew more than 1000 missions in Iraq in C-23 Sherpas such as this. The official demobilization ceremony for the members of A Co., 249th Aviation, Oregon Army National Guard will be held Tuesday, at 2:00 PM at the Army Aviation Support Facility located at 1921 Turner Road SE, Salem.

(Salem) - Science Fair was held Saturday at Willamette University Many middle school girls may not realize how many careers in the math and science fields exist for women. They're exciting jobs, and they pay pretty well too. These range from biology, to firefighting, to medical professions and beyond. Hundreds of Salem/Keizer area middle school girls visited a science fair at Willamette University in Salem over the weekend, to learn more about this very interesting career field

Former Salem Police Officer Facing Several Charges

(Salem) - Alexander`s attorney Kevin Lafky says charges contained within these documents are more than two years old Former Salem Police officer Sterling Alexander is one of the few African/Americans to have worn a law enforcement badge in Oregon`s Mid-Willamette Valley. He`s now sitting in the Marion County Jail on charges of rape, kidnapping, strangulation and sex abuse. His bail is set at $115,000 in a case that dates back to the summer of 2003. Alexander`s attorney Kevin Lafkey says his client is an innocent man.
