Autism: Successful Marijuana Therapy
Beware of Fake Doctors

Whatever treatment is available and works should not be decreased on the basis of “penny wise and pound foolish”

Autism
Many Americans are affected by autism, the best answers for treatment may surprise you.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - When I read in the New York Times, January 20, about drastic trimming of autistic victims medical benefits I was astonished and enraged. In saying that, I will admit that I know little about diagnosing Autism and its many ramifications but I do know that it is one of the cruelest mental diseases for both victims and the hapless parents and families. It’s a DISASTER!

The main culprit in this medical/financial massacre is Dr. David Kupfer, Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh. The Times states that “at least a million children and adults have the disorder”. It is certain that the severity of the disease is graded like any other medical condition on a scale of one to ten. Those in the lower scales still seem to be socially non-functional but treatable with some success. Without whatever treatment is available and works should not be decreased on the basis of “penny wise and pound foolish”. If any of these victims are not brought up to their maximum socially effectiveness the costs in the long term will be truly astronomical and even lethal because according to police they are social misfits and dangerous to society. Many end up shot by police.

The Times did get input in favor of those affected but even an inch of these new rulings could mean epidemic disasters.

In Letters to the Editor, many Autism advocates decry these proposed money grubbing regulations and even Dr. Kupfer states “it becomes a cost issue”. I fully agree. The cost of NOT doing what can be done will eclipse ANY short term savings.

Readers may know me as a Medical Marijuana advocate. I got into the Marijuana vs. Autism by total accident. In about the summer of 2008. Marijuana doctors in California started reporting successful treatment of Autism with Marijuana brownies. This ended up with ABC and CBS TV news stories about successful Marijuana treatment of an absolute hellion, an 11 year old child who had been grossly medicated and medically tortured in trials to cure him.

I posted about this in several articles: (1) Autism: Successful Treatment, (2) Autism, ADD, ADHD, and Marijuana Therapy, and (3) Autism, Ritalin, and Cannabis. These were picked up and reposted by several organizations including Autism Research Institute by Bernard Reinland which was originally done in 2003. Another favorable article was posted by American Alliance for Medical Cannabis in 2002 by Jay R. Cavanaugh

Would it be irresponsible for me to suggest that Marijuana as brownies (safe acceptable food) be tried on ANY of these destructive Autistic children. The evidence, meager as it may be, suggests that it will work. At least for some, what a blessing this would be.

I HOPE THIS HELPS SOME VICTIMS!!!
