Salem-News.com Doctor Answers Medical Marijuana Questions (VIDEO)Bonnie King Salem-News.comThis is segment 14 in our ongoing video Medical Marijuana Series.
(SALEM, Ore.) - In this segment, Salem-News.com's Bonnie King and Dr. Phil Leveque answer questions from people around the Northwest and the rest of the country about the health healing properties of legal medical marijuana.
One of our viewers asked about what the effects of using medical marijuana are for people who suffer from Celiac disease; inquiring specifically as to whether cannabis is glutton free. This is a disease of the large intestine and glutton is the protein that is in wheat and wheat like substances. The doctor says that as long as the person isn't eating marijuana or seeds, marijuana is safe for celiac disease.
Another person asks the doctor if he has ever heard of a person being denied a position over Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Leveque, an expert in this area as well as medical marijuana, says the scale for PTSD ranges from one to ten and a person at the higher end of the range can indeed be turned down for various levels of employment and other positions.
Dr. Leveque says that in his experience, patients say medical marijuana is better than any prescription they are given by the VA for PTSD. There is a connection between the two subjects in his opinion.
Watch the video for more information on these important subjects.
